I actually think it's too much from the Stars end, unless there's someone at 11 they really like. In other words, it's a deal I'd consider but not until the pick is actually on deck.

How about a deal revolving around Handzus. I've always liked the guy's game and was looking to see what it would take to get him at the last trading deadline.

Wow, Beech still has value?

Certainly not much in my book. His contract is about up (if not completey up) He's going to want some money. And hasn't proved much of anything, other than he's an enigma.

He has been hurt quite a bit . . . and dissapointing until this year, he has come on some of late though. I actually would not trade some of those on that list, particularly Beech and Marozov as one of them is likely as not to develope into something once we trade them . . . happened to us before most notably with Vancouver when we traded a MVP caliber player for a bag of hockey pucks by giving up on him too soon, and both Beech and Marovoz similarly were high draft picks and have a high skill level if they can put it all together . . . I would rather keep both and see how they progress next year.

I know he's come on of late... but I'm pretty sure his contract is up (or he's a RFA now) and the question as to whether he has any value stems from the suggestion that I'm not certain another team would want to have to pony up for his rights, when his production is questionable, and he's currently without a contract.

It wouldn't make much sense. Because he's going to want to be paid for what he did the past month or so, not the 2 years prior. And most teams won't give up much for someone like that.

I agree that his asking price would be a determining factor . . . but with the new CBA uncertainty, I wonder whether he feels that spurt recently will give him that much leverage - many players could be scrambling for jobs, more proven players.

I like Morozov as well butyou hafta hive to get.Your getting a very strong and young Rw dusin brown(12th overall last year) and an 11th this year whitch sould be a winner. So its well worth it.
