That would be kinda funny.

Habs fans would just see HOSSA SIGNED, get all excited then realize later it's marcel.

If that is true, Montreal is going to be scary next year.

There is no doubt in my mind that Bob will heavily pursue Hossa come July 1st. Now getting him to sign is another story but i'm pretty sure that there will be an offer on the table for him.

That said i'm not exactly a big fan of the idea since it's probably going to take at least 8m+ and 5 + years.

Hossa does not want to be the center of attention, and Montreal is a hockey only Market. Also the taxes I hear are a little high. 2 great reasons Hossa will not be a Hab.

There sure are a lot of big stars rumoured to be coming to major-market Canadian teams.

I wonder why.

I've explained the 2nd part multiple times in the past.
Isn't the major difference here that people actually know Strachan and Garrioch's real identities, and who they are employed by, so they have some kind of culpability as to what they report ?

I got Hossa with the habs on nhl 08. 19 goals and 31 assists in 27 games so far.

That means that if he does sign here, he will have the same numbers. For sure.

If memory serves me right, Boston REALLY wanted Hossa at the deadline and were willing to throw Kessel into the deal. However, I don't think the Bruins are the right fit for Hossa. He seems (to me) to have a thing with being the #2 guy. If he were to go to Boston, they would probably want him to be their top gun. Also, i don't remember him playing much with Savard, wonder how well they got along. His defensive prowess would deffinately fit into Juliens system. Any bruins fans have an opinion on where Hossa would fit on your roster?

Has Eklund EVER been right about anything...I mean seriously. I read his page all the time, but I never see any of his rumors actually coming true.

Hossa has said he wants to play for a contender and would take less money to win a Stanley Cup, anywhere he goes he will be the center of attention as he is an elite player...

Eklund gets some right, let's not just bash him for the sake of it but there is a reason he posts these rumors about Montreal or Toronto or whomever landing a major player...website hits.

Who has the biggest fanbase on his website? the habs...anyone want to guess how many responses this has already generated on his site? 500+?

I remember reading an artcile where he said he had to wait at a restaurent and the waiteress didn't even know who he was or what the Atlanta Trashers were.

In Montreal he would get the best table and the owner would offer him his best wine for a picture. And the taxes thing is only a problem if you compare them with some untaxed US states.

Hossa strikes me as the sort of guy who would prefer to go un noticed as opposed to having the whole establishment look at him and have kids ask him for autographs. Not everyone thirsts to be a celebrity.

He isn't the center of attention in Pitts, that goes to Crosby and Malkin. He wants ride shotgun to a cup but is definately a good enough player to lead a team there. He is a low key guy, there is not way around it.

The topic of this thread is "Hossa possibly going to Montreal" - NOT whether Eklund has credibility or not, who he is, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Any further posts that are off-topic will be infracted and the poster banned from the thread. If you don't like Eklund, ban yourself from the thread - do not come into the thread and ***** and complain about him.
