That would require linemates who not only can cycle, but actually have the puck on occasion. Lapierre and Dandenault are both pretty bad at either. They pretty much specialize in dumping it in and hitting the D-man after he passes it away.

Need to be careful, Selanne is still under contract with the Ducks and that could represent tampering.

I'll believe it when i see it. Until then, just another rumor.
The addition of Sundin and Selanne would be incredible.

Whats the saying??..''too good to be true'' ??..yea..

Lapierre can cycle just fine... his only problem is getting a scoring chance out of it.

The only time I saw Latendresse play that type of game was with Chipchura and that was because you pretty much had 450 pounds of slow in a confined area... hard to screw it up at that pace.

Lats wont be slow all his career, he improved during the season, he needed that year too get better.
He improved on a lot of aspect of his game.
Last game of the regular season in To, on one play, he outskated everyone on the ice, he was actually fast, with strong strides, Muller and him were laughing about it, he does need to get faster, but what he mostly needs is to be quicker.
(you could watch the replay of that game on the cbc website)

As for Selanne, anyday....

That line up with Sundin is a dream line up.
Just a dream for now...
that could happen

Why all the Selanne, Sundin etc are soft garbage. Those guys are fast and play hard and are NOT soft. Shanny is too slow. BG wants speed on his top lines. Lats, Obyrne, Komi, Chip and Lap will be another year older and hopefully more able to bang some bodies.

Whoever plays LW with them will wear #13, Koivu will change his number to #3 and Selanne will have the right to play with #7.

Selanne and Koivu is something I've always wanted to see in Montreal but I have always got my hopes up for it only to be disappointed. I'd be a very happy camper though if we could land Selanne and Sundin in the offseason and go for the Cup this coming season.

We always get false hope about star players. But I mean, one of these days, one of them has to come true right? Teemu is by far my favourite non-Hab player and seeing him with Koivu would be amazing.

Even without signing another player at all (never mind a Sundin), a top 6 of:

A. Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Kovalev
S. Kostitsyn - Koivu - Selanne

would give us 2 lines that could log significant minutes. And then maybe you can sign a Chris Kelly or other third line center to form a shutdown trio with Higgins and Kostopoulos, and plug in say Latendresse, Chipchura, and Lapierre as a very capable fourth line, and you're definitely looking at a cup contender.

January: Koivu openly bashes Carbo for his poor choices and start being a crybaby.

February: Koivu is benched.

March-June: A media propaganda starts around Koivu's poor play and attitude while Selanne gets traded to some western team.

July: Koivu leaves us to sign with a rival team and we will regret it for years.
Stop using your mind.....by the look of it, yours ain't made for that.

I think this could be a legit rumor for once. Why woudn't Selanne want to play with Koivu, when you watch them in the worlds it is crazy. They have such good chemistry together and this would most likely only mean a 1 year contract. This means we would have money available for Vinny or resign Kovy and Koivu. I am actually liking this rumor more than the Hossa and Sundin rumors.

Selanne + Koivu = Dynamite

Top PP line of

Kovalev-Koivu-Selanne?

Siiiiiiickkk. I would love to see him come to Buffalo but that is just plain a dream of mine. I would become even more of a closet habs fan if he went o Montreal. Plus I would get to see him skate on TV and in person!!!

10 years ago, I'd be really excited. Not like Selanne has nothing to offer Montreal but.. at the expense of who? Its not like scoring goals is the problem in Montreal, so Teemu really isn't addressing the real team needs.

We still aren't big enough, gritty enough.. or tough enough.

I'm not a Habs fan or a Ducks fan, so I don't have any skin in this, but I'd like to see it strictly from a hockey perspective and as a fan of Selanne. If he plays, it will certainly be his last year, and I'd like to see him go out blazing. I think he could do that on the Habs.

Beachemin s saying it s impossible because Teemu has lived in Anaheim for more than 10 years now, his wife and kids are there...he doesnt think it s in teemu s plan to leave.
He s also saying that last year they knew that if he had to come back it would be in Anaheim, and he s thinking it ll be the same thing this year.

The article s also saying the negtiations with MAF started

Yeah, but the way I see it, I don't think Selanne would move. It would probably be a one year deal, one year where he wouldn't see his kids and wife .

But I remember that last summer Selanne said "Anaheim is my team, Montreal is Saku's team"

But it would be so ****ing cool
