I think the Rangers are in a better situation than most fans think...............they will not bring back anyone but Jagr and Avery and even they have to be somewhat reasonable......and I mean Jagr 5 tops and Avery 3 tops............those are good salaries and they will get to play where they want

Then it's important to keep the youth movement going

Also Trades to clear some room.........just like last yr with Cullen.............I think Prucha and Backman get moved somewhere for picks and prospects or a solid D man.................I would consider a salary for salary move with TO for McCabe or Kubina too...........that's a tough one though and depends on the cap

I think Inferno meant the limit of 50 NL contracts per team.

assuming those are 100% accurate and not including any unsigned free agents (both RFAS & UFAs) i count 27 guys currently under contract for next year...and of those 27 guys there are like 6 guys that i'd release tomorrow if we needed the space.

good news is that we've got tons of space under the 50 roster limit to make moves...bad news is that if we have a bad offseason we are freakin screwed LOL

Vitto...

if the Rangers bring back Avery it will be for more money than he made last season. Jagr will cost the Rangers more than his cap hit last season. Add Lundqvist's raise into the mix, and the cap begins getting tight (along with the dead cap space). It's not a dire situation, but it doesn't bode well for signing a couple really good players either.

I would have said nhlnumbers too but upon further review they only have players who were on the NHL roster at some point this season. Your best bet might be the Rangers site, it would probably take a while but wouldn't they note that somewhere?

no cause on the rangers 'in the system' page it doesn't specify which guys are under contract with the rangers vs ahl deals with the wolfpack or not yet signed...you'd basically have to search for the press release announcing the signing of every player.

If those are correct, I counted 26 guaranteed contracts. 13 RFA contracts possibly up for renewal. 12 UFAs
