I vote Staal first and then Pickard. With that in mind I would like to see us trade down a spot or two to possibly obtain a second round pick and then take Staal with our later first, while gaining a second, I think Pickard will be gone by the time we pick and Stall the last time I checked was a early second round selection but I don't think Detroit or Atlanta (Pitts pick) or Dallas (?) let him pass, so I say take him if he is available.

from what I have heard he is a second round prospect

and trading down 1 or 2 spots will not gain you a 2nd rounder. I think we should trade the 1st for 2 2nds and then take a goalie and BPA

10 people voted for Staal? Why?

I think this is clearly the best option we have, but is it possible?

That's what I was wondering. I agree that it would be the ideal situation, but the question is can we get two 2nd rounders for the #27. I believe the Kings have three 2nd rounders, and the Coyotes have four 2nd rounders, so it would seem like they'd be the trading partners we could deal with.

If we did manage to get two 2nd rounders, then we'd probably be able to get one of the top four goalies (Pickard, McCollum, Markstrom, or Sateri), and then pick the best available defenseman left on the board.

From what i hear the youngest staal doesnt have near the potenial as the others do. I think we should address positions that me need. Like a goalie....

Well, it looks like at least one scouting service thinks Pickard is worth a 1st round pick, in the top ten!
