No Avery, How about Tucker ?

The leafs seem to parting ways with Darcy. Granted he is 33 years old, but if avery leaves gotham Tucker could probably handle his job couldn't he ?

then again I am sure a kid from Hartford deserves a shot with the big club.

more interested in how folks feel about him coming to NY, especially if Toronto cuts him and avery moves on.

Makes no sense, Tucker makes waaaay more than Avery.........just resign Avery Sather

BUT I do agree he should be more of a checking line winger

I seriously think a line of Avery, Dubinsky and Ryder would be great!

BUT that would mean Jagr goes since he can't play with anyone else

if they cash in on Hossa then it makes sense with Gomez and Dawes

3rd line of Drury , Callahan, Prucha or Korpikoski

4th of Betts, Moore , Sjostrom , Orr

Makes more than Avery? More like made. There is no way Avery gets less than $3 million per season.

Tucker won't waive his NMC though. Yes, he has a no-movement clause

Keep Avery.

That being said, I'd take Tucker over Ruutu.

Even having an off year and mostly playing injured he outscores Avery.

A healthy Tucker would be a better fit for the Rangers, Avery is all talk no action.

Tucker scored 1 more point than Avery in 17 more games last year. Tucker was more productive in previous years, but the question is whether last year was an off year or the start of a decline in production. Considering their ages, I'd take Avery at a comparable price.

If Avery outprices himself and he signs somewhere else, I'll miss him.

But it's about damn time this team has the passion it needs to win without Sean Avery in the the line-up.

No to Tucker.

As much as I'm not a fan of Avery or the Rangers, look at the stats. The Rangers have a better record with him in the line-up.

He's extremely versatile and is the best pest in the game.As long as he stays on this side of clever and doesn't wander off into stupid, he is a great asset to the team.

I don't think he's worth more than 3.5 though. He's still gotta stay healthy.

The Rangers can win without him, but they haven't done much of it. If they lose him it won't be the end of times, but they should make a good case to keep him.

Avery should also realize that the Rangers kind of gave him a new career. He was not doing well in LA at all, kicked off the team the previous year, by most accounts not the most popular player in the locker room. He came to NY and they've given him a lot of room. Fromthe get-go he was given pretty good ice time and a chance to prove what he can do. If he got moved to another team last Feb he might be in absolutely no position to ask for $2m let alone $4m.

Tucker is a shell of his former self. Avery can't stay in the spotlight as well anywhere else, and he will probably blink first if Slats plays tough.

Im just curious if you guys are sober when you think this stuff up about Darcy (f)Tucker and Jarko Ruutu.

Whos next, trade for Aaron Asham?

Cote from the flyers?

Wait wait I have it. Lets bring Eric Carins back. Hell Sandy Mcarthy to.

Cmon this is a joke that any one would even make a thread about Tucker or Ruutu.

We cried for how many years as fans when all we signed was 30+ veterans over the hill... and you want to do it again?

Want to get some one? Matt Cooke. Whether he is a UFA RFA or still under contract IDK but he is the O N L Y viable replacement for Avery.

You might as well just find a gigantic bucket and fill it with FAIL if you want to sign Ruutu or trade for Tucker.

Actually thinking about it, there is one and ONLY one way the Rangers should get Tucker, and that is if the Isles are the ones who sign Avery.

Like Avery was a paragon of health last season, please check what you're talking about before making such a statement.

If Toronto buys him out... I'd take him on a 1-2 year deal if the price is right. I guess that makes me the minority lol. I prefer Avery, but if someone over-pays him then Tucker could be an option. Avery-Dubinsky-Tucker lol
