Funny how their GM said he thinks its possible that Selanne could sign in Montreal yet Beauchemin thinks it's "impossible". Like what was said by another poster he would be gone a year to play with his buddy then he can spend the rest of his life wherever.

Not only would I love Selanne here to play with Saku, it would also help us even more as he wouldn't be playing for Anaheim and that could help our 2nd round pick from the Huet trade be even better next year

If Anaheim wants him, Selanne goes there for sure.

Getting Selanne would be like seducing a hot babe you've been lusting after but only after she's 68 years old.

Let the guy poor old geezer go into his old age home, eat his fibre bran cereal, wear his threadbare cardigan and eventually die in peace.

Have you actually seen him play this year?

If you are using Selanne as a comparison to a woman right now he'd be a M I L F

Sure, we're good enough now that nobody else wants him. Screw Selanne, he's done.

Hmmmm. Nobody wanted him a couple of years ago either, and then he went on to get 40 goals and 50 assists. Last year he got 23 pts in 26 games

How said nobody wanted Selanne?..If he truly was on the market, which he isn't, you can be sure every team would be interested..

Ya..who'd be interested in a player that netted 207pts,100 of which are goals(50PPG), in his last 188Games??..its true, he's so done.

Its hilarious to see people acting like we'd be singing Randy McKay version 2.0.

Teemu can still fly and score goals.

Beauchemin thinks we should forget Selanne and that it's impossible he signs with the habs.

Sure! Selanne can still play. But I've been hearing this rumor year after year for like 10 years now. I've learned to move on, Sundin is way more likely to be signed, at least thats fresh news.

That would be incredible.

Lats - Koivu - Selanne
Kosty - Pleks - Kovy
Higgins - Chippy - Kosty
Lappy - Grabs - Streit
Kosto, Begin

Markov - Komo
Hammer - Obi
Boullion/Korneev/Vally - Gorges
Brisebois

Price
Halak
How amazing would that lineup be?

Most of the players are okay but everything is kinda inside out line-wise. Lats on the 1st line?

Of course he says no...the guy is on his team. He probably thinks Selanne is a lock 100% for the Ducks.

in order to work on cycling th epuck you need to play with players who can also cycle the puck. Dandenault does not fit this description.

I can't believe people would say no. Do you realize he is a 1st line RW? Along with Kovalev who is also a 1st line RW? So we have two guys who can score 35 goals on two different lines. Please show me a team with a better 1-2 combination on the right side.

I'm gonna say Washington

35 + 35 =70 goals

Ovechkin scored 65.... surely the 2nd line RW can score 6 goals...

Ovechkin is a LW, he just looks like a RW sometimes because he's all over the place.

Regardless, that would be one team in the entire NHL.

The way I look at it is that it's the exact same Habs team as last year, but with Selanne on it. I just don't see what problem people have with that. A team based on speed and skill adding one of the fastest and best scoring wingers who has amazing chemistry with Koivu.

Update on Selanne ?

http://www.rds.ca/hockey/chroniques/253696.html

What I believe Beauchemin/ the article says is that Selanne has four kids in school in Anaheim and he doesn't believe he'd leave because of that. I believe Beauchemin also said that he feels Selanne will either return to the Ducks, or retire.

The story also.
He averaged pretty much a point per game last year, what makes you think he's finished?..
He also scored 88Goals in the 2 previous seasons combined with a point total of 184pts in 162Games...
Yea, that really backs up your opinion that he's finished

Beauchemin's arguments are quite crappy. Selanne would sign a 1year deal with Mtl, nothing more. So there would be no need in selling his house and moving all his family here.
He wouldn't even be gone for a year, a little less, 10months at most.

Selanne has said countless times..."Anaheim or retire."
