No, this has nothing to do with next year's All-Star game...

This is the top two lines from last season, and it's probably more meaningful than being selected for the All-Star game.

An 1981 Volvo with a Vayron engine. My pick was Babcock before and after the playoffs, Carbonneau after and Budreau a very distant third. If Boudreau had a terrible team, then so did Therrien two years ago. Carbonneau had no options this year and plenty of youth in situations they weren't quite ready for I find.

It's nice to see that Kovalev was considered as one of the 6 (likely 6th best) forwards in the NHL this season. I think he deserves it because while his point totals aren't as high as the others, his importance to the team is so much more than stats.

As for Price making the all-rookie team (he ran unopposed, really, but that doesn't mean he's undeserving), congrats to him as well.

Kovalev finished 8th in Hart voting with 94 points (0-1-5-15-17)

Price actually tied for 9th in Vezina voting with 2 points (2 3rd place votes...ironically tied with Tim Thomas)

Markov finished 6th in Norris voting with 156 points (0-4-15-11-20)
Streit finished 13th with 11 points (0-1-0-1-1)
Komisarek finished in 17th (with a bunch of others) with 1 point (a 5th place vote)

Carbo finished 2nd in Jack Adams voting with 196 points (only 12 behind Boudreau) (24-23-7)

Price finished 4th in Calder voting with 461 points (11-16-26-30-19)
Sergei Kostitsyn finished 16th (tied with Edler) in Calder voting with 1 point (5th place vote)

Kovalev elected to the 2nd Team all-star

Why did I not see a thread on this? It's a big deal to me anyway. The guy was a beast last year, let's hope he keeps it up.

Because Kovalev is not allowed to be a simple human who knows GOOD and BAD stretches like everyone on these boards.

Because we talked about it in the nhl awards thread ? : http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=524025
You know, on thursday, when they announced Kovalev and Price nomination and when RDS posted the article you linked.

Not that I mind talking about it again, both Kovalev and Price deserved it.

Didn't Theo win both the Hart and Vezina and was still on the 2nd team?

Well said, what a pile of **** these awards shows are. Babcock, without a doubt, was coach of the year. *** else can constitute coach of the year, look at his record..the team results and the stats.

STREIT with a 2nd place vote for the Norris??? WOW!

Nice to see Kovalev get some respect for the Hart and same with Markov for the Norris... but wow Streit...

Wow Plekanec doesn't get enough of respect... Koivu more votes than him?
