As many have said before, Jämtin is a Avery light. He will provide amazing energy to the team and he shows some good skills from time to time. He will be a good 4th liner for sure.

Those who says he sucks is just Jämtin-haters because here in sweden it´s either a love or hate relationship with Jämtin.

It will be interesting to see what he can do in North America!

Good luck Andreas!!
I would rather say that you are a Jämtin-lover

He's a decent player with the ability to show good skills in SEL. Honestly, he will not provide amazing energy to the team, this is NHL and NYR and not SEL. I doubt he will provide much at this level, maybe a decent 4th liner with occassional appearances.

His skating and physical aspects of the game is not even at the average level in this league, so his strengths is very diminished in this environment.

I do believe he has taken a lot of stupid penalites, in offensive zone, late in the third and stuff like that. But I saw a small improvement in that department last season.

My gut is telling me that I'm going to end up loving this guy. We'll see soon enough.

Hope Sather doesn't think this guy is going to replace Avery...Not good news on that front if we signed this guy.

Because Soryal can fight, and is young and years away from challenging for an NHL spot, and from what people are saying here, Jamtin doesn't fight, and could possibly challenge for a 4th line role out of camp?

He does tend to take some stupid, undisciplined offensive-zone penalties.

it's a simple signing........replace Hollweg on the roster

He's a Swede, he's feisty and can play a nice role with Betts and Sjostrom on the 4th line.............if he has more he will move up to the 3rd line

nice move..........and no it won't replace Avery BUT the more time goes without a resigning the more I think he is not coming back

I'm all for having players more comfortable with each other but I don't think the number of Sweedish or Czech or Martian players matter to a roster...If that were the case wouldn't teams just draft from one country?

I'm not trying to come down on you about it i'm curious as to what you think? either way this is a no risk signing...I wonder if he has an out clause if he doesn't make the team?

No we don't...

Sauer, Sanguinetti and Jessiman have no chance to be on the roster next season. Mara is a free agent...Hollweg is probably 50/50..

Korpikoski (who i love) is no sure thing to make the team..

Backman could waived...Jamtin could be in Hartford all season..

Vally, Strudwick, Shanny and Avery are all free agents..

Rozsival, Straka, and Jagr are all free agents...It's probably 50/50 Prucha is back next season...

What we are left with is 11 guys who have more important things in common then what country they were born in...

Am I wrong for thinking this is a move to tell Sean that we don't need him if he's gonna make demands we don't want to meet?

I know Avery's far more talented, but still gotta think Sather's trying to send a message.

If Avery is then he's probably laughing about it to be honest...

I mean Sean Avery has proved his worth to the Rangers and his "value" to everybody with his effort...

I doubt Avery even knows who Jamtin is....

Well, from the looks of these videos, if we can say nothing else about the guy, we know that he seems to piss EVERYONE off

I don't see what the use of this guy is then. I know I'm wrapped up in the draft, but don't we have a full house as it is with these kind of 3rd/4th liners? I don't even see his use at the AHL level, we need another guy who plays hard and can put up points if the youth struggle like Parenteau. Not a punk to rub off on the rookies

Callahan, Prucha, Sjostrom, Hollweg, Orr, Betts, Jamtin, Korpikoski, Byers..
