" The thing that struck me the most at the NHL combine was the anaerobic test. He got on the bike and it was pretty high intensity. He started and began to have tremors, an epileptic seizure. So he got off the bike and calmed down. Once he felt good enough, he got right back on the bike and did the test. That showed some intestinal fortitude. "
TT: He suffered a few injuries, which slowed his development a little bit. But he was a nice fit in Hamilton, a great personality and a hard player to play against. He must have been one of the least-liked players in the AHL. He likes to make big open-ice hits in the neutral zone. So he was a marked man on a lot of nights.
Wow, probably the most informative article on Timmins/Habs' scouting I've read.
Very interesting that Timmins wonders if we can pick up a player of Pacioretty's ilk...I wonder if he's talking about the combination of raw talent + physical stature...or if he's just holding his cards close to his chest.
I'm pretty sure he discreetly said we're not bring Korneev over, so he's pretty much never going to play in the NHL, unless some team wants to trade for his rights and give him a spot asap.
I have no problem drafting any position if he thinks he can get a player that can be an impact guy...at 25 if you try to fill holes you might end up reaching for a guy that belongs mid 2nd round or that you don't really believe in.
I'm pretty sure they like a couple of locals in Deschamps and Sauve but will they be the best player there at 25?

Korneev might be worth a spot if you think he can replace Streit and Streit will get big offers elswhere.

I also got the don't hold your breath feel on Korneev.... I get the impression Timmins likes him but isn't ready to guarantee a spot on the team, which Korneev wants.

Yeah I totally agree.
I like how he says there is a strong possibility that Yemelin comes over though, I think his style of play is more meant for North America and he is just being wasted over there.
Thing I love about Timmins, he always pulls something out last minute, takes the pick no one expects. Very unpredictable and unconventional when it comes to draft...
Hm I loved the interview, you think Habs would dare draft another D man? I was taking a look at Hockey's Future Mock Draft, and they projected Jake Gardiner as our pick. Thoughts?

It depends on the BPA. I really don't think we'll take a D man unless some high profile one drops or John Carlson is on the board. But by all reports Carlson will be taken by the Devils.
