I'm gonna order the European copy with whoever else is on that.

Just putrid. Call me hurtin but I can't tolerate this kid. My hatred and history with Phaneuf runs too long and too deep.

We yeah he was the first defencemen nominated for the Norris without having to play top pairing minutes.

I know I shouldn't post this on the Oilers board, but I'm going to anyway.

It is officially my new favourite thing that this seems to bother people, it actually matters to people who gets put on the cover of a video game?

I get the hate-on for Phaneuf. Plays for the 'enemy'; hyped (somewhat overly) by knowledgeable experts; and all the other stuff that comes with being a top, young talent. That said, here is an interesting stat that puts him into very, very rare company of peers.

The kid is a phenomenal talent who at 22/23 is not yet the sum of his part. Project him at 28 and I think it will be hard to find much flaw in his game. It is basically impossible to be an all tool defenseman. Ever. Now factor in the guy in question is 22/23. Credit where credit is due. Respect where it is due:

Dion Phaneuf has connected for at least 15 goals in three seasons, all before his 22nd birthday. Only five other NHL defensemen have done so: Bobby Orr, Ray Bourque, Denis Potvin, Paul Coffey, and Phil Housley. All but Housley are in the Hall of Fame.

source: one of the daily newspapers.

maybe you don't play the video games? if you were an EA fan and eagerly awaited the annual release like most sports fans under the age of 60 (unlike yourself, apparently?) then it might matter to you. Nobody wants Phaneuf's ugly mug staring back at them from the shelf in the corner of their living room 365 days a year.

Isn't the title of this thread an oxymoron? Phaneuf and 'grace' don't quite seem to fit together.

im only getting overly upset when his face gets on the cover of Tiger Beat, BOP or Highlights. until then, who really cares what image is on a video game container that will depreciate in value the second you buy it and 6 months later will be worth about 3 dollars at your local trade-in place?

not me.

I'll buy two copies - one to play, and one to lay a coil on.

Oh I thought you were going to buy two, one for the forehead, and the other one to fit the rest of his face in.

The good news is that many fan sites have Photoshop templates for making custom covers. Oh wait...that will soon be very very illegal. Go Canada!

He is a very good young defenseman. I am not surprised.

Although I would say that the game's case and his personality carry the same amount of flair....bahaahhaa.

I do play video games, I just couldn't really care less who they put on the cover, it just doesn't affect the experience.
