TV station covering local sports in your area?

Do you have some type of channel that covers all of the sports teams in your area?

If so, does the channel focus on local sports in some way on all of its programming 24/7? Does the channel have broadcasting rights to all, if any, of the games of the pro sports teams in your area?

If not, are the sports teams in your area just scattered over several TV channels?

One last note: It'd be nice to name what metropolitan area you live in.

I live in Philadelphia. We have a channel called Comcast Sportsnet that has coverage of the 4 pro sports teams, as well as any miscellaneous Philadelphia sports year round. It has the broadcasting rights to most Flyers, Sixers and Phillies games. Whenever not broadcasting a game, it has some type of show on either analyzing local sports teams or giving a Sportscenter-esque recap of the day/week in sports.

Most of the programs are well run with top-notch personalities. I'm extremely satisfied with it, and already have a hard time imagining how just 5 years ago we had nothing of the sort.

In Boston, the Red Sox and Bruins games are shown live on a cable channel called NESN (New England Sports Network). In addition, the Sox have a very small handful of games on two non-cable channels plus national games I think are on ESPN and non-cable Fox.

The Celtics are on Fox Sports New England (I think that is what the channel is called) or were but...who cares! The Patriots are part of the NFL TV package; all their non-nationally televised preseason games are on the local ABC affiliate if I recall correctly.

As far as highlights, there are local news affiliates on ABC, CBS, NBC, UPN, Fox and the WB Network and each shows highlights. There is also a 24/7 channel called New England Cable News which is much like a local CNN Headline News.

Lucky here in Canada.

TSN - National
Rogers SportsNet - Have zones througout Canada/National
CBC - National
The Score - National
VI - Covers Vancouver Island

Add to that pretty much all local News shows have sports highlights (at least hockey) in them.
