Then we trade the 23 for Kubina.
Beauty. Blueline done, and still with the 6, which, according to the Top Shelf plan, gets traded to OTT for Vermette & the 18th, but now Howson actually gets to draft someone at 18.

Yeah, I love it too.

Acquiring Vermette is fast becoming an obsession for me.

Give the kid some PP time, and he'll be sweeeeeeeeet.

I like Vermette but I'm much more in the PMBouchard camp. The kid is super shifty and has some pretty good playmaking skills. I just dont know how much it'd cost to get him.

Part of my obsession stems from the actual probability of it going down. The player is a great match for our team, and it's highly likely we can get him.

Bouchard is great, but I don't see The Wild letting him go.

Agree about Vermette. Getting him actually seems realistic.

I think Bouchard may get traded, but I'd bet the Wild explore all their eastern confernece options first, given his age and talent.

How about a three-way deal that sends Malone's rights to the Wild, we send the Pens something and we get Bouchard.

How about a four-way and invite The Rangers cause they'll talk dirty and spice it up?

But seriously, are the Wild really gonna give him up?

the 6th gets traded as the clock ticks to 0 for the Jackets - - -and the announcement is made by the commish......"The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded the 6th overall pick to the San Jose Sharks for Patrick Marleu"

and next year you hear "The first player to ever have a -80 +/- in the NHL is being traded from Columbus to Tim Horton's pee wee jr team for a bag of popcorn. Good Luck Mr. Marleau"

As much as I could see it seemed like Wild fans were 50/50 on whether or not Bouchard would be back. (Correct me if I'm wrong) It seemed like people were expecting him to improve on his past season or they'd be better off trading him.
