Now's a good time to get him. His value is at an all-time low.

Be great if Gainey could get both Marleau and Filatov. Sounds like Montreal is trying hard to move up...the asking price maybe be Komisarek but Gainey is probably counter offer with Higgins and O'Bryne. If Filatov slides by LA at #2 things could get interesting from Montreal's point of view. I imagine they will offer Chips and one of our defense prospects(Fischer) for Marleau

Why was Pierre Mcguire talking about what we might do on the team 1200 anyways?...doesn't he come on with Melnick every afternoon?...Not that I'd ever listen to that crappy station anyways

Not that I wouldn't do the trade, but how does getting rid of Higgins make room for:
Grabovski - Okay. Maybe Grabovski, though they haven't seemed inclined on playing him on the wing.
Pacioretty - A player who will more than likely be in Michigan again next season, and likely further development in Hamilton the season after.
Chipchura - A center
Maxwell - Another center.
Trotter - Yet another center.

Besides which, if we're getting Gaborik back, that doesn't clear room.

You don't just trade 1 player to make room for Brock. Brock is a line unto himself.

Montreal might be looking up different avenues but I really doubt they would do two trades of this kind.

I think the main idea would be to get Gaborik.....not to make place for Trotter.

Hah...so you dont listen to the best sport source in Montreal. Nice...

Anyway when he's on the team990 he also talks about other teams. Why would you think he doesn't talk about any team when there is something to talk about? That's a head scratcher right there.

The majority of his daily interviews are Sens related but he also talks alot about Montreal and Toronto due to the large base of habs and leaf fans in Ottawa.

According to Pierre this morning Vancouver is aggresively shopping the 10th pick and Columbus' 6th pick can be had for the right price.

He talks non stop, but he NEVER just makes up trade rumours. Period. He protects his relationships within the league first and foremost. He'll say stupid stuff, but he won't make up stuff about players, front office, coaches or trades.

Eklund's the place to go for talking out the ace.

No he's their franchise player. They will trade Marleau and Cheechoo before they trade Joe. Plus I wouldn't even want him here.

You guys wouldn't want Joe Thornton ? Am i reading this right ? I mean yes he was "tainted" by the Bruins and his performence in the playoffs is questionnable but he's still one of the top 10 center in the league and we would be nuts to not take him.

Hell , i'd trade Plekanec + ??? for him in a an heartbeat and i wouldn't even think twice about it.

I work accross the street from the Bell Cneter and right after lunch (12:40), 2 men passed me by and both were coming from the Bell Center and walking toward the hotel accross the street (Le Crystal). Both of them had laptop cases with the NHL Logo on it...

Isn't there a John Le Carré novel that starts exactly like ?

Or maybe it was a Secret Sam commercial...
