Of course there's interest, but he's not going to come here and if he considers it, it's not going to be for a lower pay and 3rd line playing time, like everyone here suggests.

If he doesn't re-sign with Minni then he probably wants like $4-5 mill a year, if he'd sign for like $3 mill i'd love him here obviously he wants a lot more than that.

Yes lots of interest. That way Streit can go like he should and the Habs still have a great shot on the PP. Great two-way player with wheels and leadership.

He'd be a good fit. That said, is he 35 and looking for a modern market deal? $20M/4years-ish? Well, not that he doesn't deserve that deal, but it would keep him further down on my priority list.

Be big time interest if I am Gainey. Heck, I would even overpay for him. We are in that position both cap room wise and prospect wise. Gives us more options

$5 mil over 3 years. I would take this guy in half a second. He would fit in amazingly here. He's so underrated it's not even funny. He can do it all.

Even for 4 years I'd do it.

Because of his age I'd be hesitant to go above 2 years, but I'd give him 4.5 and 4 over 2 years no problem. He'd be a great fit...at 5 mil I don't think I'd go more than 1 year.

He was my pick out of all this year's UFA crop. Except Sundin, but pipe dreams, pipe dreams.

The thing that scares me about offering him a deal for more than 1 year...

He is now 35 years old which entitles him to a guaranteed contract under the terms of the current CBA such that if he quits/retires ala Wes Walz or is injured, the Wild is on the hook for the entire term and amount of his contract and it would count against the Wild's cap space.

I really think he's the type of guy we need the most... At right wing of Koivu and Higgins, it would be a great combo...

He's a very durable player who rarely gets injured. And he's gotten better with age...He's having a great time playing hockey now. I doubt he retires before this contract is up.

1 or 2 years. If he wants 3 or 4 he can go somewhere else. He's getting old and it's scary to have a $4 or $5m contract on the hook for the last two years of a contract if the guy suddenly hits the wall or starts putting up only 30 or 40 points a year

Plus we have contracts to worry about next year with Koivu/Kovalev/Komisarek/Higgins...I don't think Bob will commit long term big money to a player who will be 36 by next years All Star Game

Rolston would definitely be a guy I'd like to bring in. He is still a very solid player but I'm curious as to what he'll command on the open market.

He won't hit a wall. The guy has a better slapshot than Streit and at worst he'd be a PP specialist...Except he's good in his own end and can kill penalties with the best of them. If people are willing to give Streit $3-4 mil, then Rolston is easily worth as much if not more.

He's a left winger.

He had the second worse +/- for the Wild's top 6.

If I'm not mistaken he has said he doesn't want to play for a Canadian team.

I'm guessing 5.5 - 6m since this is most likely his last contract and he will try to cash in.

That said he's still my #1 choice as far as UFAs are concerned.

Rolston can play all 3 positions and this is one of the reason that makes him an attractive player.

The guy is the definition of a versatile player than you can emply in every situations (PP , PK , faceoffs , killing time at the end of a game ect)

He was a -1...Not exactly terrible. And the last time he was a minus player was in 1999. He's a strong player in his own zone.
