If Malkin becomes available in the next few days (and yes I know there are reports that he is going to resign when able to), what is he worth to the Preds?
I would offer both first round picks, one of Suter/Hamhuis/Zidlicky, one of Blum/Franson....
Fair/Does it need more/Is it stupid for the Predators to even consider this? What about the Penguins?
Lets see your guys thoughts on one of the top 5 forwards in the game. If I'm Shero, I do whatever it takes to resign Crosby and Malkin, and I suspect he will. Still, its fun to kick the tires.

Sweet ... lets shred our entire d-corp for one player ... lets try this (Suter, Hamhuis, our 2 first round picks this year + one more prospect going back the other way (Hornqvist)) ? ... I'll pass ... this is fubar

I never said as much . Notice the 'one of' part. Besides this is a hypothetical situation we are talking about here. IF Malkin was available and IF we decided to make a move for him, what would be on the table...
I am sorry. I just don't see the problem in speculating what it might cost to acquire Malkin. We all know Shero will do just about EVERYTHING to resign him, but it can be fun to speculate what preds fans would give up/what Pens fans would want. Why is everyone so anti-speculation on this topic?!?
I have no clue what it would take to obtain Malkin, but if the Pens asked for one of Suter/Zidlicky/Hamhuis, one of Blum/Franson, and our firsts, I would say sign that. It answers our need at forward (goal scoring forward who is NHL ready NOW) without killing us at D. We might struggle a little more with Klein/Koistenin instead of Suter/Zidlicky/Hamhuis, but would that be a horrible direction to take our defense? I don't think so. And Malkin is no schlep in the defense either.
I got the same feeling q29. I made it clear that it likely isn't going to happen, and if given a choice Shero (and myself for that matter) would not trade Malkin....however, it would be interesting to see what we are willing to give up (seeing as how there is an outside chance that one of the game's superstars could be made available .....)
I'm not afraid to dream but it's going to be a hell of a cost. If you can trade for Malkin and keep Weber with the current team I would drive the 16 hours to Nashville to fully kiss Poile on the lips.

I think it would be possible due to the familiarity Shero has with our organization.......but I doubt it.
I'd probably give up Weber + Radulov. He's just that good, and we desperately need a player who can carry our offense.
And while no fan wants to see either go - you cannot really argue that this is unfair value for Malkin. If Poile could complete a deal while keeping those 2 players, it would be a coup.
