I'd rather keep Torres than trade for Ruutu.

If he doesn't cost too much, sure.

If Pitkanen is involved, NO.

Why waste time telling people to stop wasting time.

I'd rather keep Schremp. His value is about to go up, IMO. Not the time to sell.

Stoll and the 22nd for Ruutu and the 14th, sure. And then Torres for a second or third rounder.

Honestly - just one of those guys who was never the same after injuries. He's a shell of his former self. Still an effective 3rd line guy, but you're team is in big trouble if they have him on a scoring line.

I could see Ruutu going absolutely no where......he's good and young and they just got him for Ladd

Cole and Williams are likely gone for a shakeup though.......missing the playoffs 2 yrs in a row after winning the cup does that

That's terrible value for Stoll, he's MUCH better then Ruutu.

Edit: Schremp's value is about as high as it's ever going to be.

I'm a big Ruutu fan. So long as we don't overpay, it'd be great to have him here. If we could find a way to shed salary and up our pick in the deal, that'd be great.

If we do a 1 for 3 involving Pitkanen I'm gonna start cheering for the Wings. We need 3 for 1's. Pitkanen has to stay unless we get a stud.

That's what I was thinking... I'd much rather have Stoll than Ruutu.

Especially with Ruutu's history of injuries.

You know, you're really wasting a lot of time telling him not to waste time by telling people to stop wasting time.

jesus christ, talk about a useless body. great, hes got some talent and hits while being injured non-stop. hes not the type of player the team needs anywhere with the current depth.

just a waste of ice time and money.

I could see how both sides see it as a risk for the health point of view.

I like the Ruutu + 14 for stoll + 22 deal. Maybe we could then package up that pick + torres and a prospect not named petry or chorney to move into a spot to get Boedker, wilson or hodgson, or select bailey at 14

I personally like Ruutu as a 5on5 third line center more than Stoll. He has a bit more abrasiveness to his game. I really wish we had a guy like Kesler to fill that role. Stoll is still a valuable PK guy, but with Cogliano and Brodziak proving they can handle it and Horcoff, Moreau and Pisani still here Stoll is becoming less useful here. He is still a good player though.

Maybe it's a defender going the other way. One of the 5-6 (Smid-Greene) tandem? It would make for an even more crowded F group but Ruutu adds some of that sandpaper up front Lowe was talking about.

Plus he played pretty much a full season right? Desjardins say he played pretty soft minutes with good linemates and delivered about Pisani level at EVs so it isn't like he's going to be a huge offensive option but the Oilers have some nice things going on in that department.

The Hurricanes SHOULD be searching for PP compatible defencemen. See where this is going?

To be fair to Ruutu, he's played over 70 games in each of the last two seasons.

11 points (4 g/7a/+1) in 14 games with Carolina is better than third line production as well.

Though if Lowe adds him I wonder what else he has cooking.
