I think Nichols left at pretty much the perfect time.

Leetch for sure. However, I am looking forward to Henrik joining the ranks of the greats in the future.

Have to go with Ulfie, Stock, Matteau and Zubov (that's the one player I wish we never let go)

Leaving aside the big names, Matthew Barnaby.

I liked him too until he fired the puck at the Ranger bench at the end of Game Six.

Of the big names, Messier by far.

As to just players I always liked for whatever reason, Shanny (always was a big fan), Craig MacTavish, Manny Malhotra and Kovalev.

I still think that if the Rangers COULD'VE traded another roster player to Edmonton for Messier they would've won the cup that year...

The 91-92 team didn't have a 2nd line center....Yeah Nemchinov played great but they needed somebody else down the middle...

Kovalev and Leetch.

I got a feeling Marc Staal's gonna be one, too.

i'm absolutely shocked by the lack of Richter's in this thread.

Richter and Leetch by far my favorite Rangers of all-time. The 2 reasons why I was as passionate during the era of non playoff years for this team as I am now, and before during the Cup and President's Trophy days.

aside from the obvious (gretzky, messier, graves, richter, leetch, etc.) and current players, I would have to go with:

-Pavel Bure: moreso, he was my favorite non-ranger in the NHL for a long time, so naturally he became one of my favorite rangers ever when he joined the team.

-Ulf Samuelsson: absolutely loved the guy and what he brought to the table. Wasn't so happy with what we gave up to get him though.

-Esa Tikkanen

-Mathew Barnaby

and when he cross checked kovalev and put the puck in his face. After that series in 94, there was not one player in the entire NHL that I hated more than Nicholls.

And I still hate him quite a bit to this day.
