Re: Emery. I have always thought he had skills. He just needs his head managed better. Maybe a cold winter and some Edmonton a$$ is what he needs.....
I think there are a lot of posters around HF that would agree with you. He has skills and needs a coach that will put up with him to realize his potential. I just don't think MacT is that type of coach - he has struggled with players that had attitude problems in the past (Lupul, Torres, maybe Schremp). But I wouldn't be suprised if Emery bounces back somewhere, it just won't be in Edmonton.
Sometimes it's more painful to listen to the calls on 1260 then Bob & Robin being annoying jerk-offs.
Cammy's a one-shot scorer? Really? 3 fewer goals in 13 more games then Horcoff, who's apparently just a poser. Soft as melted butter and not remotely a complete player - so there goes all those plans for Hemsky to play 20+ minutes head-to-head? Oh, and he's also 5 freakin' 9. Well, at least Regehr would have more fun playing us.
Cammy and Cogs are really good friends, so that could go a long way in making sure he signs an extension. That is, of course, if the trade goes down.
But for my money, I hope it happens. If Stoll ever gets over his concussion issues he could be good - really good - and then LA would win the deal. However, I don't like the idea of taking that risk. We know what Cammy will bring to the table, and he will probably pot 70pts and play on the top two lines. We have a lot of guys that are "risky" going into the season. We have the sophmores who hopefully don't slump and Torres, Horc, Moreau and Souray who are comming off of injury. I think Horc will be fine but I'm weary of the others. Pitts is another guy who is a gamble - and I'd rather keep him than Stoll - his upside is higher. Either way, we should get 70pts out of Cammy even in an off season.
Sure we'd be a team of midgets...but atleast they're skilled midgets!
If Stoll goes for Camms I could definitely see another deal bringing in a guy like Ruutu.
Heh, the Oilers would be like my old Skaaven-only team I ran with when I used to play Blood Bowl back in the day...I'd usually outscore the other guy, but half my team would be either dead or near death after the game.
