What would it take?

What would it take from the Flames to aquire any of the following unsigned prospects

Keep in mind we are willing to deal prospects or defencemen (Not Phaneuf or Nystrom)

Tim Brent
Jonas Johansson
Dan Paille
Derek Meech

You guys have a game 2 ST Final tonight and you're worrying about trading for a prospect

Paille probably would be pricey he's pretty well valued in Buffalo. The other 3 I don't know.

Paille: 2005 1st round pick + ?

Unless it's a top 15 pick, something else would have to be thrown in (Paille was 20th overall)...

And his value has to have gone up quite considerably since 2002....(Memorial Cup,Captain of Canada at WJC)

man, can you imagine Meech and Phaneuf playing together with Calgary/Lowell? that would be incredible

he's a Detroit prospect right?

I think Bryan Murray likes Tim Brent and will have him signed by tuesday. I think his trade value is about a 2nd round pick, since he was drafted in the second round and he will likely be picked in the early 2nd round if he does re-enter the draft. If Bryan Murray wanted overpayment if he was close to signing him but willing to trade him, then I'd say it would cost a 1st rounder which a team wouldn't give for Brent. Hopefully Murray signs him.

Johansson probably would be a second, largely due to that's what the Caps get if they dont' sign him. ( I believe)

Buffalo's working on signing Paille. Expect him to be in the fold pre-deadline.

Derek Meech could be had for a late second or early third rounder this year. Only because this is a very weak draft year. Normally he could be had for a mid to late 3rd rounder, but I think he has far to much value to Detroit right now since we are so thin in D prospects. I would do a deal for a late second (55th pick - 65th pick)or early third (68th pick - 75th pick).

I would say Meech has the potential to be a fourth or fifth defenceman on the RedWings, but given the right environment he could be a very good third-fourth defenceman when he matures and bulks up a bit.
