But probably gone at the end of the year to test UFA waters. I know you never know but he'll get 5 from Calgary at least or he'll be gone.
He'll be gone. He's too soft, small, and weak defensively for Sutter's liking. Which makes this a bit of a head scratcher. He's basically just a smaller, slower version of Tangs with a better shot. One thing that they might be banking on is Camms having chemistry with Iginla, which Tanguay never seemed to develop.
Owner of the Ottawa Senators just implied that there is something in the works. "Thats our little secret" - pretty obvious. Of course, he might just be toying, but with all the rumors going around - it's starting to seem more and more probable that a big move is coming.
More like: Grebeshkov (young D-man like Ballard), Staios (vet, a bit washed up, like Boynton) and our first pick.
That's closer to the actual deal. I think I would've pulled the trigger--as long as Pitkanen gets signed.
In terms of value for value, it's a good trade. But from the Oilers perspective, it doesn't make sense. We trade away a burgeoning young D and one of our only two vet D and a pick, to get another forward, a position where we're overstocked already. Unless there's another trade on the front burner to flip a couple of forwards for a solid D.
