I really like this pick. Solid two-way player with size and a center to boot! Poile has worked his ass off today.

I'm surprised we traded a 2nd round pick to move up 2 spots and then selected Wilson over Bodeker..

Either way, I'm glad he is aboard. He should fit in wonderfully.

Anyone else notice TSN didn't interview Him or Polie. The Only team in the top 10 to not get any interviews. Canadian Media

Ahhhh, you don't reach at 15 you just go bpa and if that is a d-man then so be it. I don't really see what the problem would be with one and one anyway.

At first i thought the Preds had traded their pick for Vermette, oh well. Still happy we have another pick in the first round.

Hope Pickard pans out. Well, no defense in the first...

Can anyone tell me more about this kid?

agreed ... 18 year olds shouldn't look like they're 25 body wise

My only concern with Wilson - is he another example of a guy who was physically more mature than the players on his level and dominated accordingly. And then when his advantage diminished as others around him caught up physically, he becomes an average player. But if he stays a physical badass compared to his peers, then this is a great pick.

i'll be honest, i was hoping for boedker or hodgson over wilson, but i can live with it. a safe pick.

I actually like the Pickard selection...his numbers are far better than Brian Finley's ever were, and the comparisons to Carey Price are promising. He's a better prospect than Jeremy Smith or Mark Dekanich, and has a higher upside than Rinne...and best of all, there really weren't any high profile forwards available. I was cringing waiting for us to call out Del Zotto, but was pleasantly surprised.

Well, I'm surprised. I'm not displeased, but I am surprised. That we had to use a early 2nd round pick to move up two spots and that we had Pickard rated so highly - it just goes to show you how little us fans really know about prospects .

I don't think we needed to move up, honestly. Phoenix was going to take Boedker all along, and the Isles showed their hand earlyl on.

Happy with both picks on the first day. Finally some size up front. You can never develop too many goalies. Especially at the rate we go through them. On a confidence scale of 1-10. I'm a solid 8.
