Hopefully we steal Petrov later on and get lucky. I'm upset with the del Zotto pick but maybe I'm wrong...

Petrov is a risk I'd be willing to take if he's around at the pick.

Petrov, please. Sure we'll have to wait 3 years, but we would with any other forward in the 2nd round probably. Plus he's big w/ skill. And to make up for not getting a forward in the 1st round.

Petrov will fall to #51, and we will see a repeat of the 2006 draft.

Are they going to put on Bloodsport or are we going to get to see the second round on VS?

If we don't move up to get a guy like Petrov, anyone interested in Eric O'Dell?

The rest of the draft will be on the NHL Network in the US and the second round begins tomorrow morning.

do you guys want Staal just because of the name? all reports say he is not impressive and would probably be a 3rd rounder if a team doesn't reach for him...

All reports??? You clearly haven't checked/researched many draft & scouting sites on this interweb thing. He's projected anywhere from 35 - 55 overall, which equates to a mid-2nd rounder:

And that's significant. In my mind he's right where he should be (with his development) and he'll continue to gain experience in Sudbury."

I really like O'Dell before Staal. The reason Staal is ranked higher is purely size. O'Dell performed better in the 28 games he played.

Not as good a skater as Jared Staal, but I'd say that they're close in terms of skill. I see both as 2nd/3rd liners in the NHL.

Anyone have any first hand information on Teemu Hartikainen?

He is an intriguing Finnish forward as a 3rd round pick.
