You can never have enough good D men. I wanted a forward in the first but am happy with Del Zotto. He's another good "young" player added to the Rangers stable.

Does anyone know the terms of Petrov's contract with the Russians?

Don't think he'll fall down that far but you never know.

#1. Petrov
#2 Hayes (do NOT say the "J" word)

Really? O'Dell's a much better skater than Staal, only he's very light and appears to be a poor skater. He's basically a lesser Turris. O'Dell has much more offensive talent than Staal. I really hope the Rangers find a way to go get him. He deserves to be a first round pick. He's a smart player and put up in the small amount of time he was with the OHL. I can see him dominating next year.

I've only seen a couple of Sudbury's games this season and I really didn't see him as anything special. To eliminate any bias, I felt the same way about Jordan Staal. Like most people, I guess that I'm drinking the Staal-hype-machine Kool-aid, but I like his size and the projection of skill that many scouts have alluded to moreso than O'Dell who seems to be a much more common prospect (I'm thinking Callahan's level in the CHL and AHL.)

I'd take a gamble on Petrov or Stefanovich, but something tells me we'll take Staal.

I think that Anaheim (35 and 39) or the Isles (36 and 40) will take him in the second round. I'm also thinking that d-men Jann Sauve and Jyri Niemi, who is a bit of a project, but has a heavy shot from the point, will go in that same range.

Send a message via AIM to Jonathan.
I say we need to pick up Staal. Either hope he's there or (preferably) trade up to get him.

Petrov might fall like Makarov last year and fall to the 5th or 6th round.

I don't want Staal over some of the guys available. Unless they're all taken.

Players still on the board for the start of the second round:

Petrov
Dalpe
Trivino
Wahl
Maxime Sauve (F)
Sointu

I really like what I've read about Dalpe.

Don't get your hopes up..they have got to be the last team in the league to make trades. Philly makes trades like they wash underwear, they just freakin' got Umberger!

Too bad Gratchev center. I don't want him to rot under dudes with untradeble contracts. But damn he is good, better than Anisimov imho.

I think that was just the announcer forgetting that Don Maloney wasn't on the Rangers anymore...
