Canucks 2nd Round Pick - Good players still available.

Top 10 players still available:

Colby Robak - D
Mikhail Stefanovich - C
Zac Dalpe - C
Jacob Markstrom - G
Kirill Petrov - LW
AJ Jenks - C
Jared Staal - RW
Nicolas Deschamps - C
Harri Sateri - G
Jyri Niemi - D

Canucks will get a decent 2nd round pick....I would like to see Niemi be taken by Gillis but there is a small piece of me that would love to see us gamble big time and take Petrov.

Dalpe or Deschamps would be excellent and would make our C prospect depth so much deeper.

Jenks I would not touch.

Should be some good D left like Golebuf, Burlon

Gillis hinted at the fact that he wasn't going to pick any Russians the other day.

Hopefully a couple teams take Markstrom and Sateri before the Canucks pick, meaning a good forward/defenseman will fall to their pick.

I'd really like to see the Canucks pick Jyri Niemi with the 41st overall. He's ranked #51 by the ISS so I think there's a very real possibility he could be available when the Canucks make their second round selection. He has size (6-2 192lbs) and he's described as on offensive defenseman and a powerplay specialist because of his booming slapshot. He had 34 points in 49 games for Saskatoon in the WHL.

The Canucks are in need of a legit powerplay specialist and quarterback and this guy would be the perfect project for this position. Really want the Canucks to select this guy!

I think Deschamps and Dalpe if they're still there, Robak, Ness next.

I said before the draft I love to get Niemi with our 2nd pick - the only way that changes now is if Deschamps is still available.

Is there a Thomas Gradin sleeper (Edler, Rahimi, Hansen) in the bunch somewhere?

he's only 17 (11/9/1990 birthdate) so still time or him to grow a few inches. can't deny his skillset.

Would love to see us pick up one of Ness, Fienhange, Deschamps,Robak or Markstrom (why not take the BPA, even if its a goalie, Schneider's not a sure thing for the future.)

Dalpe, Deschamps, Trevino, O'Dell, Brittain and Robak in that order.

If Petrov is taken we're going to see 7-10 years of threads asking whether this is the year he comes. Haven't we suffered enough with Koltsov.
