To all the Petrov lovers, did you hear that MacKenzie say that there he may not even want to come to NA?

That's probably the plan.
It leaves you with options.
Typically centers are guys who are more aware of the defensive side of the game.
So, you get a forward that can be put on the wing, who has some good defensive knowledge, and can take a face off if needed.
Not a bad strategy.

thats not news. the only thing is that the Rangers have [possibly] enough international appeal to maybe get the guy interested.. etc etc.

Actually...the Rangers have done what a lot of us have wanted...their taken some high-risk, high-reward...kids with upside...kids that can play on the top two lines...this pick makes me feel better about the Stepan pick.

its happening more often. Doesnt Zetterberg line up as LW more than C these days?
There's other examples of course. T Ruutu, Johan Franzen too I believe... etc etc.

"thats not news. the only thing is that the Rangers have [possibly] enough international appeal to maybe get the guy interested.. etc etc."
Appeal doesn't seem to be the problem, so much as these players getting more money to stay home as opposed to coming here and toiling in the AHL for a few years, with no guarantee of them ever getting to play upstairs.

There are plenty of sites and radio shows and mediums to get professional, unbiased views of the draft. If you don't like fans commenting on the draft, voicing their opinions, for the life of me I don't understand why you're here.

Petrov contradicted that at the combine (probably at the urging of his agent). I think there's a lot of misinformation about Petrov.

I'm happy with all 3 picks so far. IMO the Stepan pick was a solid pick from left field. He may end up being a steal.
Maybe we can make a minor deal to get a 4th round pick.

true. I guess they'd wait to see how he handles himself and see if he becomes an instant plug-in a la Ovie... ya never know. just speculation.
if the guy's as good as he's supposed to be...... could've been worth a roll of the dice.
regardless, I dig our Grachev pick.

His interviews were apparently terrible and turned a LOT of teams off of him.

With Grachev's size and the fact that he might not be the best skater, he seems wing bound.
"good physical presence and ability to come up with the puck in traffic areas"
That's something this team needs.

That's all fine BUT that's not what's going on. It's not a discussion, it's people going on a RANT.
