All Montreal does is draft American players, would it hurt to draft a little homegrown talent for once.

Quailer has excellent breakaway type of speed and a good stride. He has good hands and shoots the puck well. He has good playmaking ability, good vision and is able to play any one of the forward positions. He utilizes a very quick release, not generally winding up but is able to snap the puck from all areas of the ice. Quailer is very strong on the puck and is able to protect in the corners.

Eighteen-year-old Steve Quailer will bring size (standing at 6 feet 4 inches, 185 pounds) and scoring acumen from the forward position to the Huskies. He currently leads the Musketeers in points with 28 (6-22-28 in 27 games). Musketeer head coach Dave Siciliano described Quailer as an offensive asset who drew interest from a number of other schools, including Minnesota State-Mankato and third ranked Denver.

"Quailer's a big winger who's just reaching his potential this season, Siciliano said. "He's exceptionally fast, very good shot and has very good playmaking abilities. He's great at killing penalties, and he's got that ability to make his linemates look better."

Overaged?

I wonder where this pick comes from...

As much as I like Timmins work, I'm starting to be a little annoyed with all these american picks, have they become a powerhouse over night?... or it's because you don't have to sign them before another 3-4 years?

When did Montreal become the 51st state? Maybe we can trade Timmins to a U.S team

Who cares where they are from? The thing is guys like Quailer don't get noticed as much because they get less hype and attention compared to guys from the OHL/WHL/QJMHL because it's a lesser known league. The funny thing is if Quailer player in a league like the OHL who knows, he might've gone first round as he would've got more attention and watched by more scouts.

Drafting the best players available is right annoying, let's draft less skilled players who are from the Q instead.

I cant believe the whining.

What are they supposed to do? Humm the best player according to our team is an American....but wait we just drafted one. Lets skip him and draft this Canadian guy instead. Nonsense.

If they still pick the guy knowing the media and some fans will cry....then they must really believe he's the better guy.

Looks like a pretty nice pick. Another project, but we can afford it.

The only thing i dont like about american pick is that i cant watch them as easily on webcast. Beside that i think we got some good players from there. In later round we hear about them less when they are in USA, but once them come to AHL I'm pretty sure lots of us will be pleasentely happy.

Some guys are falling them, Deschamps, Stefanovich and my boy Arniel. So far he clearly is the guy that dropped the most. He'll bounce back!
