so what was the price of Backman now that we got the 4th rounder back????

It looks like we have to wait until tomorrow to find out the nature of this move

so...

Right wing. Shoots Right. 6'2", 206 lbs. Born: Winnipeg, Manitoba, August 5, 1988.

Guy's kind of doofy lookin, aint he? haha, anyways... any scouting report?

He was ranked 153... we took him 111.... why do we keep trading up for guys off the board?

Because our scouts like him better then the 42 other players ranked ahead of him?

I don't get it we made 2 trades to move up for guys who aren't outstanding in their own right by any chance at all.

Hope we didn't give up something retarded just to get these guys.

Hate trading up in the late rounds.

Solid player. I didn't think he would be on our radar, mainly because he's a fairly safe pick. Reminds me a bit of Blues forward David Backes.

I liked what I saw of him in Swift Current. Kind of surprised he was still on the board (though I admit I haven't been paying a lot of attention to the non-Rangers picks).

The Rangers draft board isn't the same as the ISS draft board or any other teams draft board..

Do you really think the Rangers wouldn't take a kid they liked because an independent scouting source has him ranked lower? If that was the case why have any scouts?

This is a guy I like. He was in my top 100. Solid pick. Again, he reminds me a lot of David Backes in his game. Has a nice nose for garbage goals, too.

from the predators page:
Pick 111
The Predators swung their third trade of the day sending the 111th pick to the NY Rangers for the 201st pick and the Rangers' fourth round pick next year.

shame they have a more updated page than us...

The kid's almost 20 and not exactly dominating his league. Puzzled by this move more than any other so far.

does NOBODY understand what Im saying around here? I AM typing in english. Im saying its likely these guys would still be there, and probably wouldnt have needed to trade up to get them.

How do you know that?

It's possible/likely the Rangers targeted this kid and thought another team was going to take him. It's also possible his ISS ranking was dead wrong and maybe most teams had him ranked higher..

I get what your saying I just don't agree with it...Your using the ISS board to rank prospects when the guys that are drafting for all 30 teams are using there own boards...It's comparing apples to oranges..
