Midseason ranking was 80. Slid a bit. Any reasons? Scouting reports?
He slid all year. Just didn't have as much skill as advertised. I think he can still be a solid kid, but I think there were some better Euros available at the time.

They can, but why we can't we find a natural winger?
A center can move to wing.
Also how many 5th round picks make it to the NHL. Odds are your right about this selection but to kill it 2 minutes after the kid was taken..without any perspective on the kid or thought process about the pick...i don't get it...
I gotta ask because you seem upset about these picks and i'm sure you have a good reason BUT....
How many of these kids have you seen play in person?
also..
did you compare Del Zotto to Sergei Zubov? If the Rangers draft a 1st ballot hall of famer in the 1st round this draft is a huge success....
No, your right, I haven't, so technically I don't have a right to complain, only about what I've read so far about these kids and seen in their leagues and positions, and so far I'm not impressed by the first seeing eye.
Del Zotto, nah, I was stoked about that pick. That's what I meant. It will be all worth it if he is what we think he can be..........

You realize that Drury and Gomez will be in their mid/early 30's by the time these guys are ready for the NHL.
Drafting these guy late doesn't necessarily mean they will play for us. But it stockpiles the system and adds assets to trade for veterans. It's been the Ranger MO for years.
Also, these guys can move to wing if necessary.
It looks like Sather will go UFA to round out the defense for the next 5 years...I wouldn't be surprised if BOTH Campbell and Redden play here next season while Jagr, Avery and the rest walk

Some 5th round picks would have to make it to the NHL, otherwise there would be no point in the draft of the later rounds. This guy technically has a shot just like anyone else in this draft. Nigel Dawes was a 5th rounder, for one...

Odds are some sickly high percentage of the players picked these two days will not make the NHL. Why complain about it? Why waste time getting upset?
Take joy in the fact that maybe, just maybe, some day one of these guys will be on our team, lifting the Cup.
