Bourret traded to the Yotes

Per Yahoo Sports:

"The Phoenix Coyotes acquired right wing Alex Bourret from the New York Rangers on Saturday for a third-round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
With the pick, the 90th overall selection, the Rangers drafted defenseman Tomas Kundratek from Trinec of the Czech Republic.
Drafted 16th overall by Atlanta in 2005, Bourret was obtained by New York in February 2007. The 21-year-old spent last season with Hartford of the American Hockey League, recording nine goals and 24 assists in 54 games.
A native of Quebec, Bourret has yet to make his NHL debut."

not a good deal imho. I think hes a player worth keeping around for another year to see how he develops. This Kundratek kid better be a decent prospect.

A little upset about the deal. Hopefully Kundratek pans out.

Ooog. Not so sure about that. He was one of our few forwards that projected to top two lines. I grant you that he clearly has issues to overcome, but that's tough. I hope that the Czech dman pans out...

Hey - if it turns out that Bourret is Brendl part 2, then great, but as of now I'm not loving this if that's all that there is to the deal...

I guess Maloney always liked him more than Sather. Sather keeps giving his former assistant great deals.

this is just an awful deal, in every way.

trade one of your top prospects (and one of very few who actually projected as a top two line winger) to pick a guy 40+ spots ahead of where he was ranked?

Ridiculous.

I guess he wasn't one of our top prospects anymore. 9 gls in 54 games is not good. and he was hurt last year a bunch.

ergh. I'd have waited another year on Bourret. Trade Jessiman's punk ass instead.

guys.....lets be honest...Bourret didn't score like he was expected to, had attitude problems and was beefing up too much to the point where he lost a step and had concussion issues.

He is now with his THIRD organization in two years, right after being 16th overall.

Everybody always falls in love with prospects, especially if they are ist rounders, but come on. Bourret would have never gone anywhere or made this team out of camp, so it was smart to get a pick for him.

Besides, he was eating mins in Hartford which can now go to a legit prospect w/o character flaws

Granted I know nothing about defenseman Tomas Kundratek, but my initial reaction to this is

Booo

Jessiman is a RFA.

Bourret also hasn't done anything warrant this out rage.

Bourret hasn't produced at all in 2 1/2 years in the AHL.

And when i said that Bourret had no future with the Rangers, people bashed me.

I guess i was right.

When you can't produce worth a lick, you don't have much of a future.

We traded a potential bust for a the highest ranked Czech in the draft. Good deal, IMO.

Bourret is a mediocre, if he can be considered mediocre, prospect at this point so I love this move by Sather. At least this gives the organization a chance to develop a new exciting prospect defenseman. (who I might add is physical which you all whined for all week)

The Rangers dont even have Tomas Kundratek listed as a pick of theres. Could be two things I guess. Maybe they have to wait for the league office to apporve trade or this pick was obtained to be used in another trade.

why is Sather spoon feeding Maloney with these deals. Sather is not a good GM for trading.

Bouret has done nothing but Phoenix may use him at the big league level..........

Rangers are too deep to give a crap about this , Bourett would of been barried anyways with Moore, Korpikoski, Parenteau, Byers ahead of him

crap even Jessiman has a better shot at being a 4th line winger on the team

Bourett needs icetime to get better

Jagr also was Hated by the Caps, and basicly ruined that team. Jagr didnt even finish games there, he left in the middle of them. 2 good trades to about 5 bad ones.

Great move

Rangers have great depth, don't need an older prospect like Bourret giving them trouble, and most of all Bourret is damaged goods

Concussions, physical conditioning, attitude

Wow.

Some people vastly overrate some of our guys.

Bourret has done nothing in 3 years in the AHL.

He had no future with the Rangers.

They traded a potential bust for the HIGHEST ranked Czech in the draft.

Solid trade.

Montoya wasn't going to see the light of day here and his stock had fallen. Not to mention his injury problems and inconsistent play. I liked Montoya but let's be honest the way the market played out, Sather basically got what he could -- and I'm fairly happy with Leneveu and Sjostrom as a return.

If Montoya ends up lighting the world on fire over there in Phoenix I might agree with you.
