"The Phoenix Coyotes acquired right wing Alex Bourret from the New York Rangers on Saturday for a third-round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
With the pick, the 90th overall selection, the Rangers drafted defenseman Tomas Kundratek from Trinec of the Czech Republic.
Drafted 16th overall by Atlanta in 2005, Bourret was obtained by New York in February 2007. The 21-year-old spent last season with Hartford of the American Hockey League, recording nine goals and 24 assists in 54 games.
A native of Quebec, Bourret has yet to make his NHL debut."
not a good deal imho. I think hes a player worth keeping around for another year to see how he develops. This Kundratek kid better be a decent prospect.
Ooog. Not so sure about that. He was one of our few forwards that projected to top two lines. I grant you that he clearly has issues to overcome, but that's tough. I hope that the Czech dman pans out...
Hey - if it turns out that Bourret is Brendl part 2, then great, but as of now I'm not loving this if that's all that there is to the deal...
trade one of your top prospects (and one of very few who actually projected as a top two line winger) to pick a guy 40+ spots ahead of where he was ranked?
guys.....lets be honest...Bourret didn't score like he was expected to, had attitude problems and was beefing up too much to the point where he lost a step and had concussion issues.
He is now with his THIRD organization in two years, right after being 16th overall.
Everybody always falls in love with prospects, especially if they are ist rounders, but come on. Bourret would have never gone anywhere or made this team out of camp, so it was smart to get a pick for him.
Besides, he was eating mins in Hartford which can now go to a legit prospect w/o character flaws
Bourret is a mediocre, if he can be considered mediocre, prospect at this point so I love this move by Sather. At least this gives the organization a chance to develop a new exciting prospect defenseman. (who I might add is physical which you all whined for all week)
The Rangers dont even have Tomas Kundratek listed as a pick of theres. Could be two things I guess. Maybe they have to wait for the league office to apporve trade or this pick was obtained to be used in another trade.
Jagr also was Hated by the Caps, and basicly ruined that team. Jagr didnt even finish games there, he left in the middle of them. 2 good trades to about 5 bad ones.

Its a pretty monster trade, no matter how you slice it.
like i said two good trades to abunch of bad ones. man you know Sjostrom is worth Montoya+, because he got what 4 points on our team.
Montoya wasn't going to see the light of day here and his stock had fallen. Not to mention his injury problems and inconsistent play. I liked Montoya but let's be honest the way the market played out, Sather basically got what he could -- and I'm fairly happy with Leneveu and Sjostrom as a return.
If Montoya ends up lighting the world on fire over there in Phoenix I might agree with you.
