Picked in the 3rd.

Rai's an 89, 3rd season in the Dub last year, first solid offensive year. Anyone able to find a scouting report on him?

Here's hoping Reddick falls to our next pick!

Interesting pick, the fact he was a local boy probably played into it. Put up decent stats although he is one of the older players in the draft. Seems like he could be a good pick-up in the 5th round.

The thread is hardly a definitive source, but save a poster or two, he was not that fondly thought of as a potential NHL player:

Taylor Stefishen would've been a grand selection as well.

Ilmari Pitkanen could be a possible shot at 6th round.

Rai's first 37 games last year, he was 2-22-24. His last 35 games, he was 18-23-41 and a +29. Became an impact WHL player and you have to like his skating ability. Hopefully that wasn't a blip and he continues to develop along those lines.

Kind of a similar-style player to Mason Raymond.

You realize East Indian isn't the correct term anymore right...?
There are only 1 Indians... Aboriginals/Natives are not called Indians anymore.

How many indians have played in the NHL... just curious?

The term actually comes from the notion that the Caribbean countries are called the West Indies, although that's a little outdated, it's still used from time to time.

The most famous would be Manny Malhotra...
he's a halfer, but still qualifies...

Do you guys remember a guy named Robin Bawa who suited up for a couple games for the nucks about 15 yrs yrs ago???
he wore #44 and i was at the game he smashed the glass on a hit at the old Coliseum...

here's his "fan page" http://www.angelfire.com/un/bawa/ heh heh

There's also a 'Bains' that plays in Europe and has suited up for Team Canada i believe in the Spangler cup.. but i could be wrong on the 2nd part of that statement
