I'd say it was a steal.

They say he's a very reliable two way defenseman with a lot of character and a hell of a shot. He loves to hit, and hits hard and often.

I think if anything, he's the replacement for Ivan Baranka. They play a similar kind of game, from what I'm reading.
Really?

Is Gaulton even close to playing in Hartford?

Thanks for that link! W.O.W. It's crazy that Gaulton was picked right behind Petro in the OHL draft (2 behind Del Zotto) @ #4...

And ahead of Zach Bogosian.

Nothing wrong with trying to hit a home run in the later rounds. Solid value.

Worth a flyer at this spot.

He plays for a pretty bad OHL team and and plays a pretty interesting game.

He's got a shot, he's got some jam to his game, he's solidly built.

However, it hasn't all come together for him yet. The question is whether that's a reflection of his progress and injury or whether that's because of his team. Maybe a combination of the two.

However, this kid just seems like he could be a legit late bloomer. Not a stud defenseman type, but similar to what Baranka was projected as or even a nastier Dan Girardi.

I'm all for taking risks with late round picks. How many 6th rounders usually pan out in an average year anyway?

I had an elbow injury, strained ligaments, not as bad as a dislocation though. I only missed one shift. But the elbow was never 100% after that. I can play hockey, but I cant armwrestle without feeling any pain.

I'll definitley be rooting for this kid.

I'd take a nastier Girardi, definitely. Just without the Callahan man-crush.
