Can't get much more complete players than that. Unless they can cook...
Or maybe he didn't want to be snowed in half the year in Russia?

Right because lord knows Pittsburgh is such a more attractive city than Moscow or St. Petersburg. Who needs culture and thousands of years of history when you can have steel mills and mullets?

Atleast the entire city isn't gangland and broke.

Also there like two steel mills left in pittsburgh.

You are either very young, misinformed, or living in the past.

Pittsburgh was rated the most livable city in the United States in 2007...

http://www.placesrated.com/pr-mediaroom.htm

Pittsburgh ranked #9 in smartest places to live...

http://www.kiplinger.com/features/ar.../05/intro.html

Pittsburgh on the top 10 destinations in the world list for 2008...

http://www.frommers.com/articles/4811.html

I could type up an entire page of facts and statistics but I have better things to do with my time.

Crosby took a smaller contract, but as many have stated he makes up for it in endorsments. If Geno follows suit than Sid should push to have him do some endorsments with him to help ease the 7 million he would be leaving on the table not going back home. I hope you guys get him locked up. Seems like money is not everything to some guys. Geno can still make 50 million+ by the time he is 30.

Meh, all of Pittsburgh is European immigrants.

Jewish and Russians on Squirrel Hill. Italians in Bloomfield, Morningside, and Beechview. Germans in Troy Hill and East Allegheny. Polish on the South Side, Lawrenceville, and Polish Hill. Czech/Slovaks in McKees Rocks.

Any major European hockey players that isn't Swede or Finnish is going to feel at home in Pittsburgh.

8.5 is a huge discount for malkin. especially when you see guys like drury, gomez, vanek, etc. making 7+ mill. malkin could very easily get a max contract of 11-12 mill a year if he wanted by waiting for RFA next year. or he could take the rumored 12.5-15 mill tax free contract in russia. i'm very glad to hear these quotes from his agent that he's leaning towards accepting less.
