Hm, was thinking Hagelin might've been there, seemed to have a good year. Is it that its difficult for a college player to get to go to a development camp, or just that the team is taking their time with him?

Btw, for the guys who we don't have rights to now, or those guys overagers trying to earn some sort of contract?

Added the right wings, which were originally missing. Would love to see that updated to include the three Euros you mentioned.

With a cursory review I already see two college (or college bound) players in the Center category alone, Campbell and Stepan.

Carl is one of my favorite prospects and I'm a bit concerned to see this... Perhaps the coaching staff is comfortable with him and his progression and feel that he's not required at the "conditioning camp"? As long as he's at Traverse City.

Edit: Anyone with better knowledge of hockey prospects recognize any interesting names amongst the players that aren't currently Rangers' prospects?

Well, I noticed them too. But maybe w/ those NCAA rules they need some kind've permission to participate in something like this?

well with no byers or korpikoski maybe the rangers are going to have them really battle for spots....im hoping they both make it as they both add very nicely to the team

I believe NCAA rules stipulate that in order to attend pro camps, the individual must pay his own costs.

I got the feeling at the time that he meant regular camp, but as time went on I figured he really meant prospect camp, so I was surprised to not see his name here. I doubt we see him at regular camp and probably not Traverse City, since the KHL season kicks off on Sept 2nd.

Hagelin would have to pay his own way, which is a little pricey when you're talking about crossing the Atlantic. I know nothing about his family's financial situation, but if he knows he's staying in school for at least another 2 years, I can see not spending the money this year, and saving it for a point when he's actually closer to turning pro.

Pretty much. Overage juniors and former college. One of them, Oren Eizenman went to school with my brother at RPI and spent most of last season in the ECHL. I think, unless there's another Joe Ryan, that Joe Ryan is LA's former 2nd round, #48 pick in 2006, who LA chose not to sign by the deadline this June.

I updated the original. Must not have dragged far enough when I copied.

It kind of disturbs me that Cherry is not attending.

Could that be because he just got drafted and was in North America anyways? Was Grachev or Kundratek present at the draft?

yeah, both were.

and i think youre right, if the guy is here, then he should come to the camp, im not sure it would be worthwhile for the guy to fly for 16 hours or whatever it takes, be all jetlaggy, and then play in an intense developmental camp, only to fly back, again super jetlaggy, and go to omsk training camp, which i believe is right around the corner right?

D-man Wallingford an '87 birthdate didn't too much until this past season. In 61 games for Kingston of the OHL he had 11 goals and 50 pts. with 132 pm's. 6'6" and 226 lbs.

Grachev and Kundratek were both at the draft, yes.

My purpose in pointing out Cherepanov was at camp last season was to suggest that his contract didn't prevent him from participating last season, so it's unlikely that's what's keeping him away this season.

I'm hoping Eizenman can have a great camp and get a shot with a team. It would be nice to see an Israeli in the NHL.

I'm sure if the Rangers really wanted Chere here, he would be here for that camp... I just have a feeling it's something political...

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I don't believe Cherepanov not coming over is a bad sign on him not wanting to play in the NHL. The RSL season starts earlier then the NHL one (I think squishy would know around when, September, right?) and he did have some conditioning problems last season so maybe its better he spends the time preparing for a much better season. I mean, if the organization and Cherepanov already figure its best for him to work on his game in Russia a little longer, then it doesn't make sense for him to make the trip to gauge his progress, no?

It's not...he said right from when he was drafted, he wanted to come to the NHL when he was physically ready to do so...he said he would finish out his contract, which at the time had two years left. He made it clear to Omsk management he had every intention to come over when his contract was up.

Interesting to see Antoine Lafleur there, considering I don't think he's Rangers property anymore. Didn't we fail to tender him the obligatory 1 year after qualifying offer after his horrendous year last year?
