Have to agree with your sentinements here. Especially with Stillman, not sure where he gets it from, but he's a great player.
I see Nagy, Rolston, and perhaps Vrbata, Williams, Langkow, and Stillman as possiblities. With us trying to supposedly acquire Nagy at the deadline, I'd imagine jacques would try again if that were true. Though it make me shrug. He'd be very Stumpel-esque, imo.
There are only two knocks on Nagy. He misses a ton of games and he's a complimentary player. Put him on a line with Rolston and both players will put up a ton of points. If he is relatively cheap he might be worth the risk.
Do you think the trade JM made with Phoenix is a pre-cursor to signing one or even two!? top six forwards (Rolston/Langkow or Naslund/Morrison combo or Hossa) or am I putting too much faith into JM. , and the only reason he made that trade was to put Jokinen in a non-traditional hockey market like he was in Florida. What are all your thoughts on that leading up to July 1st.

I think it's possible, as anyting is, but it seems he's expecting the kids to play and to play well here. I'd like to see him ship a few guys out and perhaps bring in a couple guys, but I'm not really going to speculate. That never works.

who knows, I like Langkow ALOT and he probably will be locked up if Calgary has any sense. but my ideal forward lineup for this season would look something like this

haha oh god, I don't usually respond to posts that are irreverent just look at my post count since I've been registered. But honestly buddy that would improve our team or at least equal out the loss of points from jokinen. meaning... we'd probably still miss the playoffs but who knows lol
Ty, I don't understand how people can be so off on their evaluations of talent.

Langkow and Stillman wouldn't hurt this team. Vying for the Conference isn't likely, but it would more than make up Olli's hole. How can anyone say that it wouldn't?

We would def be better. 1st place in the east is CRAZY

I'd rather have Zed: on the 4th line , on the 1st line or...out of town. I don't like the fit on the 3rd line. We need at LEAST one f.a. signing up front. Rolston would be good ,but not for more than 5 mil. for a couple years.

Exactly... We can't speculate ! It is always funny to do so, but in the end we all know we'll be wrong !
I don't think we need a couple of guys as you said. We need to make room for a couple of kids, that means Stumpel and Peltonen out... Then we have to sign a forward with star-potential ! Someone who can replace Olli !
Hossa, Naslund, Jagr... They are the only three I can think off, Vrbata and Rolston are in the second-tier level IMO
Naslund and Jagr some say it would be "retirement contracts", I don't think so, those guys we'll take those contracts to go to Europe ! If they want to play in the NHL, and choose our team I would be ecsastic !
RW Jeff hamilton and ben clymer are on waivers . U think we should pick one of these guys up . I like hamilton .
Idk. I was in favor of picking up Hamilton off waivers last year, but after hearing what a lot of Canes fans said about him, that he's really only a PP specialist and that he deserved to be a healthy scratch as he was a lot, and focusing on his play after I heard that, I really don't want him at all. Save the money and put it towards one good forward.
Whether we get them or not, the 2 guys I would focus on getting is either Hossa or Rolston. We probably have a better shot at Rolston, but we at least have to try for Hossa. That is unless we know Bouw is not going to resign.
