I was hoping to get the Rangers to change their minds about playing there. What a waste of time!

@ Stug

Are you going to the games?

I know the team will be staying at The Hotel Intercontinental. Where is the hotel in relation to the arena?

There's a travel package being offered by an agency in Tampa. You can e-mail them for the flyer via
karen@mainstreettravelax.com

I hope I'm able to find someone to go with. My girlfriend absolutely hates hockey. I think she feels she's in competition with The Rangers because it takes up so much of my time.

why is it a waste of time? It's a great experience for everyone involved.

disagree. i think its a waste of time, the teams invariably come back home ragged and tired and more worn down. i was soo hoping it wouldnt go through.

i disagree....for team building what's better then a week away from home to get everybody together?..it beats a canoe trip in lake george..

also lets not pretend these are regular travelers here we are talking about a crew that is in the best shape a body can be in.....they aren't flying coach and staying in a hostel...they are flying chartered jets staying in 5 star hotels...with trainers and doctors staying with them....they will be prepared for whatever comes along..

this is a great team building exercise...now with the way bettman treats the rangers it wouldn't surprise me if the rangers had 3 in 4 nights with two games in prague and one game in anaheim on tuesday...

yeah, thats all fine and good. i also know the richest franchise in sports, the yankees, went to china or japan or whatever, and to a man they all complained about how it hurt their game, how it was a waste of time, etc.

the sox called them all babies, then they went overseas, and they too started complaining about it.

and this is baseball were talking about. the wimpiest physical sport there is. hockey takes its toll big time. no reason to do a retarded publicity stunt and hurt your team even more.

nothing beats winning for team building. all the road trips and bonding exercises you do isnt a substitute for winning. you win, you like each other, you lose, you have marek malik refusing to shake hands with his coach.

I'm dead serious...who wants to go???

PM me.

After everything is said & done...the trip is going to run $3,000 - $3,200. That's air, hotel (4 nights where team is staying), taxes, a tour of the city, free breakfast, tickets to both games, round-trip from airport to hotel & round-trip hotel to games. It's fully escorted by English speaking tour guides.

for further info...send an e-mail via karen@mainstreettravelax.com

my brother and i are likely going, depending on our situation with work and his new 6 week old...will be awesome. The $3,000 above is way overblown. I've been to Prague for two nights and I spent a little over $300, going out each night, taking a tour, and staying in (granted it was ****) a hotel. Add airfare and game tickets to that since I was already in Europe when I went, but you'd be going way overboard with things if you were to spend $3,000.

I also don't like it, but I might like to go if I can afford it. The Rangers are playing the Lightning, so it would be a chance to see Steve Stamkos' NHL Debut as well.

i was planning on going but ticket prices and the cost of airfare has made it almost impossible for me to go. so i'm gonna hop down to Jamaica instead.

I've been to Prague twice, it is an awesome city, and to see your favorite team play there, well that would be an awesome treat for anyone on this board who can afford it.
