He's good if u get him the right line mates. I think he will fit in nice with the red wings. He can be a real steal for little money

The truth ? Girls like short thick legged men who can lift heavy objects.
Or with a tool-belt and who can fix things. Or who subconsciously reminds them of their father. Or if freshly divorced and freshly elected president of France.

On another note, I think the Leafs are throwing the towel too soon, unless they purposefully want to tank this year.

Since sometime this morning. Someone linked Maddox in a Masao thread in the lounge, and I saw the title.

I see him a bit like Ribeiro was before the trade... Questionnable work ethic, but lots of talent. I think a team like Columbus or NYI would benefit from adding a player like this since they have nobody at center. He could turn things around very quickly and become an excellent player.

Well I thought it was hilarious, even if it did come at my expense.

Wellwood has great puck skills and vision... but thats it really.

Small, poor conditioning, average skater, not much heart or dedication...

I'm a little suprised people are saying he's going to be picked up... I think he'll be lucky to stick with an NHL club unless he really cleans up his act.

The reason that some team is going to take a chance on him is because of the part that I bolded. You can't teach great puck skills and vision, but you can work on a players conditioning and skating.

He's not going to cost very much, and in the right situation he can still be a good player. Even if a team picked him up as only a PP specialist. He could definitely be a low risk/high reward type of player.

Well he comes from a magical World of nymphs and orks. What can you expect? He's not breed to be with humans.

Agreed. Wellwood might be Steve Sullivan 2.

Kovalev is not exactly a workaholic, and Carbonneau/Gainey made that project work. Can't teach the things that Wellwood does well, you can teach the things he's lacking. And $900K qualifying offer is a pittance.

Darcy Tucker bought out

Id really hope Gainey snaps him up . Way better idea than Gary Roberts.Mark my word Tucker is going to come back with a good season and it would be great to seem him do it in Montreal .

I can't believe you're comparing Kovalev to Wellwood!

We could use a center. Gainey offers Tucker 2 years for $2 million. Tucker says one million a year seems low. Gainey says yes but Komisarek won't be slamming you into the glass anymore. Tucker says where do I sign

Sundin would have a friend on the team if we signed Tucker

I would get tucker as a 3th line center.. could be interesting. the guy as lot of heart, and plays for a loser team, he already said he never regret his time with the habs. i am sure he would appreciate and play very intense. a higgins tucker kostitsyn line could be fine.. if we sign Hossa.

I would throw up for a week straight if we took Tucker back.

This is a team trying to move forward not backwards.

If the Habs pick up a Sundin or a Hossa, there's no room for Tucker. I would be happier if they picked up a Jason Smith/Orpik type defenseman or maybe an enforcer.

I really liked Tucker and always thought it was a mistake to trade him. But I'm pretty sure he's done.

we probably can forget "the enforcer" that doesn't seem a priority.

If your trying to lure Sundin al im saying is "maybe" Tucker might help.
Obviously would make the transition for him easier for many different reasons.
