What's funny about that is all of them have played in the USHS, although Kristo left after his freshman year (he had a big year as a freshman from what I'm told, although he isnt' from Minnesota, he moved up from Indiana and played only 1 year in the USHS before going to the USNDTP)

There's 2 Mr. Hockey winners (Fischer/McDonagh) and 1 runner up (Wyman), had Kristo stayed in the USHS, he likely would be in the running next season (since it's only for seniors).

If you think that is odd, you should see how many Quebecers the Minnesota Wild have drafted.

I have no idea how many Quebecers they have drafted, but it would be a laugh to see them stacked with such players.

Eric Belanger, Sherbrooke
Marc-Andre Bergeron, St-Louis-de-France
Marco Scandella, Montreal

That's all they've got in their system.

Well I was just listing players and figured I'd throw the head coach too. How about you tell us how many of their coaching staff, scouting crew and other staff members among the Wild organisation are from Quebec?

From the players that will be playing on the team with a roster spot for sure in the 08/09 season:

Russians - 2
Czechs - 2
Belarusians - 2
Americans - 3
Finnish - 1
Canadians - 4
Quebecois - 5
Slovakians - 1

I swear to God, if anyone brings up the Pure Laine crud again, I'm gonna freak.
The whole, Montreal Russians/Montreal Americans was cute and amusing at first and now it's just annoying to hear.....it's gotten about as annoying as the "unfair drafting that the Habs prospered from".

This kinda reminds me of the movies "Mighty Ducks", when they all introduce themselves, and they're like 80% from Minnesota.

"Gordon Bombay, Minneapolis, Minnesota"

It's a testament to the love for hockey in Minnesota and them instituting a good developmental program.

Maybe if the Q became serious about developing hockey players, we wouldn't have these stupid arguments.

It's starting to get amusing, "****, talent pools developing elsewhere! Curse the day when we have so many different places producing top notch players so all 30 teams are filled with high-end talent level!"
