Wilson definitely jumps to the front. Add Laakso and Sulzer (is he too old?)

From that list I'd say Klein, but then when I hear the word prospect he isn't the first name/face to jump to mind. Taking him out, I'd say Franson... BUT Wilson definitely comes in at a high 2 or a 1b. IMO.

I'm actually more inclined to say Spaling.

Shouldn't Pekka be on the list? He has less NHL experience than Klein.

Define "#1"

Most close to NHL ready... Klein
Highest ceiling... Wilson
Close to NHL ready but no games played... Franson
Most likely to play in 09 opener... Hornqvist

Agreed.

I went with the prospect with the highest potential/chance of reaching that potential - Wilson.

so you two think that Franson will be playing on the Nashville roster before Hornqvist ... that seems a little to me

I'm still holding out hope that Sulzer will overcome the obstacles and head over here and make the NHL. While he's not #1, I've always liked him and wish he can contribute to the team.

Opinion noted. Nah... I misread "09" opener bit... while I do think Hornqvist will be on the roster in the 09 opener, I think he will also be on the roster in the 08 opener. My bad.

But I also whince when someone calls Klein a prospect... *shrug* I just don't qualify him as such when names like Franson and Hornqvist and Wilson are used at the same time. I dunno... maybe it's just me.

Sulzer didn't have any problems in training camp last year and folks in Milwaukee said he was NHL-ready.

Our top prospect is Wilson, hands-down.

I voted for Wilson. Even if he returns to BU this year, I think it's possible he sees time with the Preds as a post-college season call-up (assuming we can sign him to a deal). I doubt he stays at BU two more years, and he could prove useful down the stretch/in the playoffs

I can't decide between Hornqvist and Wilson.

I think I'm going to pick Hornqvist just because he should be on this season's opening roster and Wilson still may go back to BU for one more year.

1A and 1B I guess.
