Great list Mac! The only question I have is Lindstrom at #6. Seem like the CBJ brass and Hitch are just not very high on him. Ive heard if he doesnt make the team outta camp, hes going back to Europe. Ive always liked JL and I hope he brings his Agame to camp this year. We could certainly use his scoring ability.

I have heard that as well, and I can see it happening for sure. I wouldn't say that the brass isn't high on him, off all the call ups last season he had the most GP with 25. He had 7 points, not great but certainly not bad considering he was playing mostly on the fourth line. This camp will definitely be make or break for him but I have hope that he can step in and be a go-to guy on offense.

Where Russ spent the whole season with the big club last year, I'd say he's promoted. I almost left Brule off the list for the same reason, but because he spent half the year in Syracuse I put him on the list. I consider Murray and Boller to be graduated as well.
Do you honestly think Filatov is higher than Mase and Brass right now?
Yes I do. That's not to say that i won't slide him a bit lower depending on how he does in camp. He is a game-breaker, very dynamic. At his point in his career, he is all potential. He hasn't played in the CHL or AHL, who knows how he will adjust.

Agree... Brass and Jake have great offensive skills, but Filatov is a gamebreaker.

Gotcha. Thanks for your outstanding work, as always.

Here's a question to mull over, which players make the team out of camp.
I think Voracek and Brassard for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if Brule and Methot do too. This is probably Brule's make or break year. Filatov is the wild card. I could definitely see him making it, but I can also see him playing juniors or in the AHL to bulk up and get more experience. A lot probably hinges on free agency with who and how many people we sign.
No Legien, no Mason? aren't past players pretty much favorites to return?
Both are too old, at this point. Mason and Legein will both be 20 when the regular season starts - it's why both of them will probably be in the Cuse to start the year, barring something unexpected at camp.
I was checking the archives at 1460's website, and listened to the interview with Hitch after the draft. He is very high on Filatov having a hell of a chance making the team this year.
His reason is that he says he spent a full year in the Russian pro league. Where he played most of the season was somewhere between AA-AAA here. He didn't mention this, but I also heard he played some games in the elite league. Hitch says that he, therefore is up to "speed" with the pro game.
Hitch also stressed that things have changed since Brule came into the league. Can't look at a players age. Go into camp with an open mind. A lot of young guys in the league now.
Not saying he is a lock, but it'll be a lot of fun watching this kid in camp and preseason.
I read that earlier. I hope he goes streight to the AHL to learn the NA game. If he goes CHL we might have to wait 2 years. I know Canada want him to play up there. I want whats best for the Jackets and his development and I don't think the CHL path is best.
While not too surprising, I dunno if he'll actually see ice time there. I think if Hitch likes what they see in camp, they'd rather give him a cup of coffee to see what happens, or put him into the Cuse where he can be recalled easily.
