Finally things get interesting...

My vote went to Grachev, seems like he can really be a good power forward in the league, hes got the skill, shot, strength and will..but he's got to improve his skating.

I went with Sauer. He's close to the NHL and I think he can be a real contributor.

Add Wiikman.

Went with Grachev based on his size.

Add Wiikman and/Potter.

It's rather scary that the vast majority of "top quality" prospects in this poll haven't even played a season professionally yet.

Unfortunately, Sauer's injury will probably set him back at least a full season.

Meh...a bit..but it happens when you have that jump where a bunch of the previous top 10 players all made the jump to the NHL.

Just gotta look at it the other way..

Our top 10 was awesome the past 2 years..but now....a bunch of our young-ins are graduating to the NHL with a full time role...which is a great thing

Exactly. The fact that our pool is dramatically weaker than last year is a good thing. It means for the first time in 15 years our prospects are actually panning out.

Went with Gratchev. Like Fly said, this is when things actually get interesting. Could have gone 3 different directions here that could be justified IMO. Went with Gratchev because the big scoring center is something we need in our pool.

Add Potter

I went with Sauer--though considered Grachev and Byers. Add Potter.

Is Parenteau going to be eligible?

Went with Sauer who I feel is going to be an NHL player even if it takes another season. Grachev is intriguing just as a package but having never played in North America and just one game in the RSL I feel like it's a bit early to be jumping on that band wagon. And it's not like he's Cherepanov level of skill. Definitely impressive how big he already is at such a young age. Look forward to see if he can use that size to dominate in the CHL.

Add Potter.

Sauer...it was close between Sauer and Grachev. Grachev has higher upsdie, Sauer is close to being NHL-ready (injury notwithstanding), and is at least a 2nd pairing D-man. Add Potter.

Grachev, add Wiickman (great year in Hartford). What if our top 6 looked like AA centering Cherry and Grachev; Gomez centering UFA and Korpedo; Drury with Cally and a prospect, ***, speed, finishing, crashing the net, havoc. Then there is defense with well, you know. Super for us if these guys pan out. Go Blue

Once again I think our european scouts had the lay of the land and we got another gem. All of our russian picks are players who have clearly stated their desire to play in the NHL. All of sudden we are starting to stock pile some very large, quick, forwards. Can you say bye bye Huge Jessiman?
