He's got a limited NTC, and why would we get rid of one of our best forwards last year?

This seemed to be overlooked in the Brooks article on the offer to Jagr -

Multiple sources have told The Post that Mats Sundin will be the Rangers' No. 1 target when the free agent market opens Tuesday at noon

How about Bob McKenzie?

And for all the talk that the New York Rangers had permission to talk to Sundin before Montreal, the truth is, it was Sundin's agent who asked the Leafs for permission to talk to the Rangers, who then decided against trying to secure Sundin's negotiating rights. Which, again, should not be confused for the Rangers' lack of interest in Sundin once free agency begins next week.

for the record, he was spot on in the rangers getting drury and gomez, weeks before it happened.

i dont always agree with Larry, but hes got some good working knowledge on whats going on with the Rangers. I also recall him getting the backman thing right weeks before it happened as well.

I don't doubt...

that Sather is looking to Sundin. Doesn't mean he'll be signed, but I don't doubt there's interest. What his angle would be in attempting to acquiring him is something to which I don't know the answer.

Improving the PP...bringing in elite talent for the short term, while not killing the Rangers long-term cap-wise.
