Conroy is apperently getting 1-1.1 million according to CP for 1 or 2 years, that is a STEAL. Conroy is still decent, i'm not sure why some posters are surprised by us re-signing him.

edit: wait, I just remembered that Cory Sarich deal. Disregard.
The Sarich deal wasn't that bad.

You do not watch enough Flames hockey. $3.6 for him is not a bad deal when you look around the league at similar players. Look what Orpik will be making.

Sadly, I do watch enough Flames hockey.

Orpik does a lot more than Sarich does, therefore he is worth more. Sarich, when he signed the contract, was so incredibly overpaid. Still is in my opinion.

No, actually it isn't..

Going by market value and what Sarich brings to the table, 3.6 per year is fair, maybe a slight overpayment, but if Orpik like Realm said will be getting 5+ million per year, then 3.6 is more than fair for Sarich

I always think we should have signed him for 3mil.

So it's not that bad he was good for us in the playoffs that hit alone on Marleau was epic.

BTW your counter argument is great, really convincing.

Thank you. 3.6 million for one hit...woop woop! How about them turnovers and defensive blunders, let alone how PAINFUL it is to watch him skate, let alone move on the ice. Use the word 'move' lightly.

I can agree to the point where we pay him up to 3 mil that is his worth IMO no argueing that as he could get that money on alot of teams. He is a good shutdown defenseman who has a pretty nasty physical edge to his game. A great pairing with Regehr which has physically dominated top lines in the NHL with him and your going complain about him being a bad signing after you admit you do not see him play often, get real.

What do I win?

Can I get a beeker doll those look cool.

BTW I do respect your opinion and I do agree that we slightly over pay him ,but not to the same degree. Still in the Market last year for defense men we had to overpay slightly to land him.

3.6 for a 2nd pairing shut down guy who is 27 (when signed) sign me up. If he made more, he'd be a top pairing guy. But he isn't . It's solid money for a guy who struggles with consistency, brilliant at times, not so much at others. That's why he makes that, and not 6. Really bizarre people cant figure that out.

I understand your guys point, but if you had the chance, would you do that signing again? Or take the cap space.

That's not the issue. We're not arguing that he's a top pairing dman. Some wouldn't even consider him a second pairing dman. Hence the reason people are questioning 3.6. You should do a little more re-reading.

He certainly had the biggest impact of any Flames player in the San Jose series, literally.

See for yourself.

Signing. We'd be looking for a 2nd pairing guy for 3.6.

Fair enough, I guess we all have different perspectives. We'll agree to disagree.

Compared with his contemporaries, his salary is reasonable.
