you could also add 0% chance according to RDS.

Even Eklund is starting to doubt his own sources:

"A source had told me there is a 75% chance that Mats signs with Montreal by tomorrow evening. Take it for what its worth. Anything can still happen and probably will."

Based on almost everything else he's said, it's not worth a thing.

I don't believe he'll sign with us but RDS did not say 0% chance. His agent doubts that he'll make a decision in the next few days...that's hardly definitive.

I know it's Eklund, but all he said is that a source told him that it was 75% he signs tomorrow. I know, I know, everyone thinks he makes everything up, so if he is his own source then ipso facto he is saying it's 75%; otherwise he is only reporting what someone told him.

I just wish people would be more precise in their posting. I'm weird that way.

I am really starting to think Sundin will only decide if he's playing this season after July 1. If he doesn't know by now, will he really know by Tuesday morning?

The key question is, who will still be willing to add him for big bucks after July 1 and is Gainey one of them? This could be good for us as I think the Rangers have a lot of pressing needs (winger if Jagr doesn't re-sign, 2 or 3 defenceman, etc) and they can't wait around for Sundin like we can since our team is already basically set.

I only hope he won't pull a Briere and sign with another team on July 1st.

How about this, just a twist of irony

Mats was choked at the trade deadline

He's choked with the buyouts to Tucker and Raycroft and the waivers to Wellwood

He despises how Cliff is doing things

So why not wait until the 1st before telling Bob and Co that he would like to chat, that way no players/picks to Cliffy boy

just wishng on a falling star...aren't we all

I find it hard to believe Mats would do any of this..................He had a no trade clause for a reason and he honoured it.............Now he is UFA and he can do what he wants when he wants............no different then any other player that has been in his position.

So what happens if he signs tomorrow? Would all Habs fans suddenly worship Eklund

worst thread title....ever....

I'm sure someone's trying to be funny but in the end who are you going to believe? Eklard or RDS?

If Sundin signs it wont be until July 1st

Well now it RDS (won't sign until July 1st) VS Eklund (75% of signing tommorow).

The wake up call for the Leafs will be hard....they expect a tier 2 prospect if Sundin doesn't sign...I think the best thing they can expect is a 6th round pick in 2009.

I don't believe either Eklund or RDS. The only reputable source in my mind is Bob McKenzie.

RDS is quoting Sundin's agent who I consider a pretty reliable source. He didn't say that he won't sign before July 1st though, he just doubts it.

Could it be possible that Sundin just didnt like the way the Leafs treated him and wnats them to suffer a bit?

I mean, he has talks with Gainey, they secretly agree on a contract. Then, as scripted, declares himself a UFA and "decides" to go with the Habs and signs with them on let say next Thursday.

This way the Leafs dont get any player or conditionnal picks from the Habs and Sundin can thumb his nose at them in a very legal way.

Pretty sure we owe them something whether we sign him tomorrow or July 31st.

Yay,the doomsday UFA overreaction from Habfan comes early.

Let's wait and see how the Sundin affair will settle out...nothing has been officially confirmed yet...no need to overreact badly.

Bob Gainey did say publicly that if Sundin isnt signed by the 1st, "we owe nothing to the Leafs".

I would love if they did that but for some reason I think that if the Habs don't get him by then he will be a Ranger or Canuck.

if he truely wants to play in Montreal, I think he'll make up his mind pretty quickly cause the window of opportunity will close very quickly.
