If Slats starts signing players based on fan petitions, I want him fired.

I cannot believe there's actually a web site for this. I could see this for Mark Messier back in the day, but Sean Avery? Well, whatever works. (shrugs shoulders)

Hillarious

I agree he should sign but I also agree it's important to watch the cap as their are tons of open spots

I think he comes back...........It's a game of hardball but in reality they both want a deal to happen

Avery is a moron if he doesnt come back for 3...............why be greedy when he gets all the media coverage in NY and his freaking fashion crap

Is somebody offered you more money to work the same job would you take it?

Players aren't greedy when owners are going to line up to pay them...

The window for athletes to make there money is very short..THEY SHOULD make as much money as possible to set themselves up for life. Greedy is the wrong word to use....Smart actually fits better...

The only loyalty that exists in sports comes from the fans....

Only Jagr should have a site to save him/bring him back. Avery wants too much for too long...he can take a walk.

I lurk at lot here, but I just have to say, Sean Avery is just not that good! There, I said it.

He lucked out by being traded to a talented team that just didn't seem to care that much. He re-energized the team, sure, but with massive changes happening this season in the personnel department, the energy that Avery brought to the team previously may no longer apply.

I like Avery as much as the next guy, but when I think about it, I like him more as entertainment. His hockey playing, as others have noted is inconsistent, and average. A long-term deal for him is just asking for trouble with the Rangers who are (hopefully) becoming a team of younger players with a passion and desire to win, and not just a bunch of grizzled old veterans who've been there and done that.

Weinman says Avery signing elsewhere is imminent, but it's just a rumor as of now.

Lets hope its to a team out west

I have to admit, I heard that the Rangers didnt want to give him all that money weeks ago, but i'm still a bit surprised they walked away from such a fan fave.
