A RW is compensation for Sundin.

Didn't Bob say he liked Tanguay because he could play on both wings?

I think Grabovski is waiting to see what happens with Sundin. If Sundin signs, he likely goes home. If Sundin doesn't sign, Grabovski will stay.

He'd of already gone back to Russia if that was 100% his choice.

Why not try and make four lines.

tanguay - sundin - lapierre
higgins - chipchura - s. kostitsyn
latendresse - koivu - a. kostitsyn
d'agostini - plekanec - kovalev

lol.. we have the depth.. almost.

I don't think he can go without breaking his contract...if Russian teams start signing guys with NHL contracts, then all hell will break loose and they'll start losing guys like Yemelin to the NHL before their contracts are up.

I think when the dust settles, Gainey will trade him for a 3rd or 4th rounder.

Lats and A.Kost and move S. Kost to LW if Sundin comes. Just Lats if not. Lines look like:

Higgins-Sundin-Kovalev
Tanguay-Koivu-Latendresse
Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kostitsyn

or

Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kovalev
Tanguay-Koivu-Latendresse
Higgins-Chipchura-S. Kost

IMO, Grabovski is out of the organization's plans. The guy has to get WAY more solid on his skates if he wants to play in the NHL. Also, he doesn't seem like a team player and I'm not sure that Carbo wants that kind of attitude in his locker room (see "me angry, me no go on plane" incident).

Am I the only one who is worry about not having a single right handed shooter in our top 9.

Only Kostopoulos and Lapierre shoots right...

Yea, I'm not a fan of that. Sundin shoots right though. Future wise, at least Kristo and Trunev shoot right.

I was bored on the beach yesterday so I did some line-ups, with and without Sundin.

Latendresse-Sundin-Akost (Both Lats and Akost could learn ALOT from Sundin, plus it makes a very dynamic offensive line)

Tanguay-Plekanec-Kovalev (Obviously you have to play Tanguay with your best or 2nd best player in order to have him perform. I could see some nice chemistry between both alexs.)

Higgins-Koivu-Skost (Was good, might become very good)

Lappy/Begin-Chipchura-Kostopoulos (energy line)

Without Sundin (It is still very interesting, except for the fact that our only Right-handed forwards are on the fourth line)

Tanguay-Plekanec-Kovalev
Latendresse-Koivu-Akostitsyn (Very Dynamic)
Higgins-Chipchura-Skost (Great two-way line)
Begin-Lapierre-kosto

Grabs is not in my line-up 'cause I have no idea what will happen to him. We'll see at the training camp I guess.

Going back to the beach.

Adios!

same opinion here. you have to have at least 2 on PP dman/forwards. We have none so far.

I like those lines. I'd also try:

Higgins - Sundin - SK
AK - Plekanec - Kovalev
Tanguay - Koivu - Latendresse

That way every line has an established veteran winger.

Something along the lines of

A. Kost / Pleky / Kovalev
Tanguay / Koivu / S. Kost
Higgins / Chipchura / Lats
Begin / Lapierre / Kostopoulos

I think if we do land Sundin it would be a shame not to put the Bros together with Plekanec.

Theres no reason to brake up the A.K - Plekanec - Kovalev line. It was one of are most exiting lines last season and also one of the best lines in the nhl for a good stretch. You need to go back to that line. Tanguay was brought in to give koivu and higgins what they were missing last year. I really like the mix of players you find in that line. I think Sundin would be a perfect fit for sergei K. and latendresse. Those two young players could really benefit from sundin experience and giving Sundin two young kids like that might make him fell younger as well. Kovalev was really push by A.K and plekanec and it might be the same result for sundin if he signs with us.

A.K - Plekanec - Kovalev

Tanguay - Koivu- Higgins

G.Latendresse- Sundin- S.K

Stewart-Chipchura-Lapierre-

I think AK46 should move to RW also, to give Koivu's line a boost, and to prepare AK46 to take over from AK27 as the main offensive threat in the future. He has to carry a line before he can carry a team, and playing third fiddle on the first line, while useful in his development, needs to become part of the past.

With Sundin, I had this:
Higgins-Plekanec-Kovalev
Tanguay-Sundin-Latendresse
SK74-Koivu-AK46
Begin-Chipchura-Kostopoulos

Without Sundin or any other new C, Chips moves up to #3. However, he will need to have some speed (Higgins) with him if we expect the third line to contribute a bit of offense, while still being responsible defensively. I don't like having Chips and Tender on the same line when they are the two slowest forwards. Also Tanguay needs to play with scorers more than Higgins does, so I think he can move in with Pleks and Kovy when AK46 is shifted to RW.

Without Sundin or a new C then:
Tanguay-Plekanec-Kovalev
Latendresse-Koivu-AK46
Higgins-Chipchura-SK74
Begin-Lapierre-Kostopoulos

I'll have a go also.

1stLatendress-Pleakanec-kovalev...Lats in front of the net! Pleaky and Kovy could do their thing

2ndTangay-Koivu-A Kostitsyn good ES line. Plus AK could put up some serious goals in!

3rdGrabovski-Chipchura-S.Kostitsyn....could be good With Chiper doing the dirty work in the corners and to some extand S.K. grabo for his speed and complemented by SK.
Beside I think grabo has a better chance has a winger

4thBegin-Lapierre-Kostopoulos Our bang line.
