Jagr could go to another NHL team

this is interesting, i always thought he would stay with the rangers or go to russia

http://www.nypost.com/seven/06282008...urn_117544.htm

Quote:
"Jags and I have been talking all week. His goal first and foremost is to play in the NHL for another two or three seasons," Brisson said. "His objective is to sign a new contract with the Rangers, and that has always been his priority. I told that to Glen when we talked [yesterday] morning, so he knows that.

"But Jaromir's mindset is that if it's not where he wants it to be with New York and [if] it doesn't work out with the Rangers, he will be on the market for other NHL teams. He believes that he can play at a very high level for another two or three years."

It's pretty obvious that Jagr might be interested in other NHL teams besides New York. I don't think for Jags it is necessarily New York OR Russia. We'll have to see.

He's still an elite talent. In the Pittsburgh/New York series, he was at times the best player on the ice, despite the likes of Hossa, Crosby, and Malkin being out there. He was a man possessed, and I have a lot of respect for him for that.

I think it would be fitting for him to finish his career in Pittsburgh, but I doubt he does it.

If the Canucks miss out on the Hossa sweepstakes I wouldn't mind seeing Jagr given a two year deal to play here. Anyone know if Jagr and Demitra are buddies?

Probably just posturing by Jagr and his agent to put some pressure on the Rangers.

He's on record saying he'd love to play for Buffalo.

How about Jagr going back to the Pens? A nice reunion to end his career...

Or how about going to Washington? He could play with Nylander where there is proven chemistry while Ovechkin plays with Backstrom. Thats a pretty nasty one two punch.

Or he could just come to Edmonton and be set up by Hemsky all year long and win the art ross one more time...

If he is honestly looking for a two year contract, that is the exact length of a contract that doesn't handcuff the Oilers in signing Cogs/Gags in the future. It would put a barrier into singing Horcoff next year however.

They Oilers could definitely make room for Jagr at around 5 million a year if he wanted to come here.

Now, before people go out and say he would never come here, Jagr has said he would love to play with fellow Countryman Ales Hemsky.

It's certainly not probable, but it is something that could possibly happen.

Jagr burned his bridges in DC by criticizing management and the city after he left.

I would like to see him end his career in Pittsburgh. Hopefully, Pens management will show some character and put in a reasonable offer for Jagr if they can't sign Hossa.

3 years at 7 mill a season from Edmonton its Jagr he could be 5o years old and still be a top ten player. No joke. Love to see Hemmer and Jagr rip it up for 3 years and 7 mill would be a bargain. Just do not field any more offers from Russia please.

Jagr is cancer!! His ego could never fit in the pens locker room...especially since he isn't the number one guy anymore. His attitude would be deterimental to the pens

He certainly wasn't a "Cancer" on the Rangers.

At least in Edmonton he wouldn't have to take part in the shootouts.

Seriously. There's no chance he would come to e-town, even for 10M per...well...maybe...

You're right. He led them to the playoffs for 3 straight seasons. Especially in 2005-06, when he was dynamite and had 54 goals before he unfortunately got hurt in game 1 in the Devils series when they were swept by Jersey.

He's certainly not as good as he was even 2 seasons ago, but he had 15 points in 10 playoff games and played very well against the Penguins. He certainly wasn't the reason they lost in 5 games. He got no help.

Anyway, if we end up losing Hossa, and that certainly looks to the same, count me as one of many Pens fans who wouldn't mind seeing Jagr come back and play with Sid. It would be a risk, but I think Jagr would have tons of room to work with on the ice and regain his scoring touch.

And the Pens and Jagr can certainly make up. The media and the fans have overblown this so-called feud between them.

That's a good one.

Jagr doesn't get "set-up." You give him the puck and then he controls it and he creates an opportunity then he shoots and scores.

Take a paycut and play in Edmonton?

Keep your voice down buddy, unless you want a free agent stampede on your hands.

That works 5 times in a season the rest of the season I am pretty sure he would not mind being set up. So the joke is on you. Do people really think Jagr is going to take anything less than 7 mill seriously?.
