If Halak isn't a better backup option than Denis, please get rid of him.

If we can get Denis in as the #1 in Hamilton, I'd be a-okay with that. I mean, the guy's stock has fallen so much that I really think he might be a good fit. Not one team in the league wanted the guy as a backup this past season and I see no reason that this would've changed.

I agree, only for Hamilton and an emergency call up for injuries. As I see no other guy unless Danis is signed. Denis is too slow in the nets for me, i don't really like him for Montreal at all. But for Hamilton sure.

The ECHL goalie Desjardins? He is not what i had in mind as a call up for the Big club. See what he does in Hamilton this year. Hopefully he continues to develop.

Somebody I would like IF he would not cost too much and accept his role is Kolzig.

Lalime & Aubin have proven to be solid backup tenders in this league over the past couple of seasons, Denis on the other hand, had the perfect opportunity to become a #1 in tampa & struggled to barely be a backup there.

if we trade Halak for immediate help, ok... but there's no way Halak goes back to Hamilton.

The 3rd goalie would be signed to be number one in hamilton and eventually be called up in case of injuries or if our goalies seriously suck, I don't see auld accepting to play in hamilton lalime and denis i don't know

Really?

Aebi did not play well for us. That can't be argued (aside from one month to open the season). But he won a Stanley Cup in Colorado and put up very respectable career numbers.

REG SEASON: 214 GP, 13 SO, 2.52 GAA, .912 SV%
PLAYOFF: 13 GP, 1 SO, 2.07 GAA, .922 SV%

Hate on him all you want, but he still had a very decent NHL career.

As for Theodore.. the guy won the Hart Trophy as well as the Vezina. He had a couple of rough seasons in Montreal as his tenure here came to an end, but he seems to have regained himself as of last year. His career numbers are also very respectable.

REG SEASON: 444 GP, 26 SO, 2.65 GAA, .909 SV%
PLAYOFF: 47 GP, 1 SO, 2.76 GAA, .914 SV%

If we really wanted to break it down about ' never having ****** goalies in Montreal again.. '.. Then we could very easily break out their numbers in comparison with Price.. which trust me, would not look pretty. Not to say Price is a bad goalie.. but neither Aebischer or Theodore are bad goalies, either. In fact they are probably in the Top-50 in the world.

I don't know anything about the personalities of the various and sundry Denis/Aubin/Lalime/Auld types floating around. But we do need a #3 guy for Hamilton. Whoever wants to take a league-minimum contract and not ***** and moan about being #3, well, welcome aboard. I'd think any of them could get better deals in Russia or Europe or wherever, but hey, if they want to stick around here and their heart and head was in the right place for our job, then why not consider them?

I think Olli is the perfect candidate, *except* he wants back-up time. We're looking for a number three to come in during an injury and to give some advice.

Marc Denis is a great choice because the guy needs his confidence back, and going back to Montreal is exactly the type of place to re-gain it. He'll also come very cheap and be willing to put his time in Hamilton.

People need to remember that most back-ups with credentials (Joseph, Kolzig) will not come to the Canadiens unless the Canadiens say they will play more than Halak, and since Gainey is still high on Halak and no-one is offering a great offer to Montreal for us to trade him, he is the number two to Price period.

Nate's a good guy, you just can't really discuss hockey players with him. When he says that Mike Komisarek really didn't have that good of a season and wasn't our best defensive D-man on the team, you just give up talking about players with him and just enjoy his other discussion.

Sorry, haha.

With so many people who rag on Theodore and Aebischer, I wasn't sure if you were joking or not...

=) You know I like you, so shuttt up. lol

Haha, well thanks for the first comment.

I just feel that Komi was great during the first half and slowed down quite a bit. I think Hamrlik was far and away the best defensive D-Man on the team.. but Komisarek was damn good. I admit, I was off on the O'Brien comparison.. somehow I thought he was a lot better than he is.
