And that is why Doug McKenzie is my favourite TSN analyst, you go the extra mile.

Let's trade the rights to Jagr, Avery, Shanny and Straka to Tampa for Stamkos.

Mike Smith is a good young goalie and the backup is still young

As for the Rangers.....CRAP!.....IF Malone and Rolston go that leaves Hossa who will be BIG TIME over paid and then guys like Bertuzzi, Demitra, Satan, Ryder left

May as well just go to the D and sign a Orpik and Redden with the cash , atleast that makes the G and D great

Well, Satan would not be a terrible stopgap move, IMO, if we could get him for just a couple of years somehow. Ryder is interesting because his value may be down after a poor campaign last year, so he's certainly worth looking at.

Still, the Bolts signing Rolston is far from a done deal, so let's cross our fingers (those of us that want him).

i think bertuzzi and laraque will end up on the rangers, not great signings but both have something we need, big wingers that can actually play and chip in a little offense.

Yeah because the Rangers need guys that can chip in "a little offense" after they were one of the worst scoring teams in the NHL.

Gary Roberts inks one-year deal with Lightning

Tampa Bays Power Play is going to be pretty stacked next year. Malone sitting in front of the net on the first unit and Roberts sitting in front of the net on the 2nd unit.

So if for some reason they have the same kind of sucess that we did with all of our past FA spending (ie no playoffs), do you think Melrose gets the boot after year one?

They are giving him a lot of rope to hang himself with.

Maybe I'd just like to see him fail.

Seems to me like they had a great coach already in place for the team they are building.

Depends on whether Karri Rämö meets his potential. He could be very very good.

Gary Roberts?

he's going to be 43...damn! I guess the Tampa Bay brass saw him lay a couple hits during the playoffs.

I'm not sure what the hell the TB brass is doing. And that all started with their choice of head coach.

eminger aint really a hartford trade, and teams are stacking up on d, if orpik's rights gets dealt say to nucks, rangers are in trouble. if sather aint gonna sign our own players why not trade their rights, heck other gms are doing that and getting something, imagine if we got a 5th round pick for the rights to avery, heck maybe we get a future prospect.
